Return of the MP3!

2001 Mazda MP3
I picked up my car yesterday morning after work, and didn't know how to act. It runs just like new! After being in the shop for over a month, I think all the excitement I had reserved for the moment, was kinda spent long ago. I am currently in a breakin period, just like when I bought the car so that everything seals up and seats properly. I have a 4,000 -90 day warranty on labor, and a 12,000 mile warranty on parts. They marked all the bolts and, and took digital photos of it all, so that any tampering will be evident. I am in a delima on whether to go ahead with my BEGI Turbo project. The kit is just sitting in my room. What do you folks think? Should I sell the kit, and buy a cheap car (lik a civic), and soup that up, or put the kit on my daily driver (MP3)?

Where are you getting all this money to buy another car??

I'd sit back and wait to see what happens, and put the turbo on the MP3...

Then SELL the turbo and wait for FM to get everything sorted out...Then save some money and get it then.

But that's just my two cents.

I think your MP3's dyin for a supercharge :)

Not the supercharger s*** again. (no) I say sell the kit, repair any credit that isn't paid for, refinance the car if it isn't paid off, etc. Or you can just throw caution to the wind and once your car is broken in, slap the kit on. Just be careful whatever you do, definately wait for the break in period to pass.

The thing is that my credit is in great shape. At the end of the year, I will get some extra money to pay some stuff off. With the tax return, I can be back on top. Why sell the kit, when I am so close to the realization of my goal? I hate Murphy's Law though!

Don't count your chickens before they hatch...

SELL IT????? Are ya crazy?! You've come this far, fought this hard and worked you a$$ to the bone with stress and sweat to make it this far. The end is in sight, the light is bright at the end of the tunnel and boost is in your grasp! Bide your time, save your cash and slap that sucker in! Think of the satisfaction you'll have once its all said and done.

I say keep the car, sell the turbo and be happy with it the way it is until the financial picture is better.

linux, don't sell it!, just sit it there, christ...its paid for right?, exactly, just have patience dood.

Save the kit....that is IF that turbo is really the one you want to put on your car....show some restraint and wait a good while till your car is nice and broke in....say like till your warrantee is nearly up....THEN turbo your MP3.....and don't beat it between now and then either.

I like this idea!:D

This is a tough call. Anytime you turbo a car, you HAVE to have "emergency car" money.

So wait until you break it in...
save up some emergency $
install it

OR

sell it

Listen Im getting my turbo kit in 3 or 4 days... All I have to say is put it in and dont abuse the car. I went for a spin in spoolinmp3 turbocharger mp3 and it flies but you just cant beat the car everytime you get in to it. Remember there was only 1500 of these cars made.... there are millions and trillions of HONDAS garbage! What Im trying to say is be unique.

Well, you can sell crack or claim your car stolen, then send it to me, buy a wrecked 2001 ES, remove the vin plates, dump the ES I'll send the mp3 back to you you put the ES vin plates on, and there you have it, a perficltly legal protege and insurence cash in your pocket to spend on the turbo. ;) good luck.
