Not sure if anyone had mentioned since I haven't been actively reading this thread. This past weekend I burned a mp3 cd and it "RESUMES" on the CD. I guess I'll be doing that in the time being.
I no longer buy music from itunes. Instead I pay $10 a month to Spotify which allows me to download high bit rate songs to my phone, which I then stream over bluetooth to the stereo.
Works great.
MR wipe, did you try using bluetooth with the iphone + spotify instead of usb? If the device with bluetooth (i.e. the iphone) is capable of playing the songs then it should work. Bluetooth is a streaming audio format, the car just decodes and amplifies the sound. The phone/device does all the work. The car head unit has no idea what the original source is. I can't notice any difference between sound quality. Its true that bluetooth will degrade as the signal worsens, however within the car the distance is so short you should almost always have full signal.
Hey all, I'm trying to get people from both the CX-5 and M6 forums to sign my petition, which is asking for Mazda to update the head unit for our cars!

Many of the issues you all experience are likely noted in the petition link above. Sign the petition and make a difference!
