Requesting Fluid Change info

Hi,

My wife has a 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring. The car has 75,000 miles on it and I am wondering which fluids should I change. For the record, other than engine oil and antifreeze no fluids have been changed. Can you also please tell me how much needs to be changed for each fluid change. Please be clear about how much fluid will come out (and hence must go back in) vs the full capacity as not all fluid changes empty out the entire capacity.

Thanks for your input!
Jomo

All of this information can be found all over the internet and in the owners manual.

At your mileage, it's time to replace your spark plugs. you will want to drop the transmission pan to change the filter. That's all I can think of at the moment for your mileage.

Trans fluid and brake fluid.

Be sure the use the fluids recommended by Mazda. As for how much of each? You'll have to do some legwork on this site for that.

Definitely check the owners manual for your year.

Check ch. 6 - Maintenance and Care, specifically pp. 6-4 through 6-15.

I'd consider the following, at 75K miles, beyond the engine oil and coolant you've already addressed:

  • Transaxle (transmission) fluid + filter
  • Transfer case fluid
  • Rear differential fluid
  • Brake fluid (if never yet changed) + bleeding

The Mazda-suggested timing and capacities for all fluids are listed in the owners manual. It's about as close as one is going to get, on the exact amounts on your specific vehicle. It might vary a bit, but those specified capacities are going to be pretty close. (The procedures for such fluid swaps do, of course, end with ensuring the level of the fluids are at the specified level.)
