replacing windshield

Has anyone done this themselves before? Is it hard? Does all the molding n such need to be replaced as well? Also, anyone know if a windshield from a p5 fits?

yes the molding should be replaced.. and yes, it will fit. as far as i know..

A P5 windshield will fit, so will a MSP one. The MSP one is actually lighter, and thinner I believe. If you're gonna do it, definitely replace the molding but I wouldn't advise doing it yourself. It's not an easy task. Cutting out the old windshield will result in stripping of the clear coat around the molding and you will start to accumulate all sorts of rust there.

Take it to a pro, they'll do the job right.

Yea I was thinking the samething. I recently got my windshield replaced for my protege and I didn't realize how much was involved in replacing it.

Yea im just gonna take it to the local safelite autoglass. They quoted me $202

Most insurance companies cover windshield work without deductibles, did you look into that?

I have not. My comprehensive deduct is 500 tho. I know some states mandate the windshields be paid by the insurance companies without filing a claim. Just don't know if my state is one of those states
