Replacing the driver's door handle trim with leather trim

Thank you. To be honest, ever since i bought the car i was planning to replace the arm rest fabric.

That looks really good. Im seriously considering doing this. The door handle trim on both front doors of my CX5 are starting to look really dirty and ugly. I will probably only do the front doors. I just need to find a good upholstery shop around here. I like your idea of doing the removal and reassembly to save some money, Im guessing it cant be that difficult to remove the door panels.

Very nicely done!

If anyone wanna remove door panels, before you start, get those plastic pry bar type car trim removal kit from Harbor Freight. It'll save you from a lot of damaging. Also, order some extra clips which some of them will break for sure. After buying and breaking 10 ($1.75 each!) from the stealership, I ordered a 25pk for $15 on ebay. It was item: 170882156514, or part number GJ6A-68-AB1.

You can find some posts about removing door trim in this thread too.

Rrrsma , it looks GREAT !!!! (I started this thread, I still did not replace the arm rest. I , too, can confirm that the arm rest is not sold separately. You need to buy the full door trim if you want this changed)

This is an excellent example for a horrible, and probably inexperienced design from usability perspective .

They probably gave this part the the new kid in the workshop. I wonder if he is still working there... Damn.
