removing timing belt/gear cover

:
2010 Subaru Legacy GT
i like the look of the visible cam gears and timing belt(i wish it was a chain). i am wondering if it would be safe to remove the top section of the cover. if so how would i go about removing it? would i lose the use of anything?

no, you wish it WASN'T a chain if you cared about the look

hmmm... yeah you're right.

after reading the how to on the cams, it cannot be done... the top part of the cover is attached to the valve cover... oh well there goes that idea.

i was going to attempt to just cut round holes right where the cam gears are so i can get a socket in there to adjust the cams...but that's the most you can do because of the timing sensor on the exhaust cam gear :(
