Removing the Roof Rack Mounts

look inside the owner manual its alright there....as soon as i got home from the dealer that thing came off.....it was just a couple of screws and bolts if i remember right...i think i was a little too excited

When I got my car, the dealer opted not to put on the roof rack and left the kit in the hatch. I drove for a week and decided to try it out. I mounted the roof rack and kept the cover pieces just in case. After putting on the roof rack and driving around with the sunroof open, I found it to be a bit noisy. I just took the roof rack off and I drive around with the sunroof open and I don't notice any noise. Besides, down here in So Fla, everyone has the rack on, so I like the different look form the average Joe P5 driver.

It's easy to add/remove. If you want to go totally naked, follow the thread from above to remove the gutter from the headliner. I got a bud who did it and it looks nice! I'm not going to mess with it myself, as i might get the urge to put the racks on again and put up a bike rack.

Just my 2.59 cents....

Razor,

That's my P5. Kind of proud of it... Only if you have 8 uniterrupted hours should you start the removal of the the rails of the roof rack. The other pieces are called cross members in this part of the word and YES, GNs is right; they produce noise thus Mazda, as of now, is taking off the rack and investing the money from the savings to put a sub into the car via turning the spare over and using a different rear carpet and cover. Cool idea.
