How do I remove this biotch do I just "pop" it off with a screwdriver or what? Any pics? Im trying to put my 3 gauges in the spot where the other guy put his. Its gonna be lookin alota nicer (ricer) soon. LOL I cant help it I gotta have some gauges :D

Remove the two screws, one on either side, at the rear of the console by the seats. Remove the two screws up front that are covered by little screwhead pop covers, lift off the shifter trim and remover the three screws from there. Once you do that lift the console up and gently pull towards the rear of the car. It'll come right out easily

I think he meant the radio A/C console, am I right?

If it is that then it involves you getting behind it through the passenger's and driver's sides) and disconnecting the 3 cables that for the temp controls. Directions for that are somewhere around here, let me know if this is the console you're talking about.

If it's the other center console (where the shifter is), then 20ESGUY got it.

the center dash is easy to get at.....just pop the glove box off, pop off the center surround...disconect the HVAC cables and it's off....10 minutes for both tops.

Ok, just took this from Toru on protegeclub.com (thanks by the way)-
"Once the cables are unhooked, I pushed the bottom of the vents in and pulled outwards. The trim will just pop off. Pull it out enough to get at the back of the HVAC controls with a stubby screwdriver or remove the controls completely along with the trim (I did not do this because I did not want to rethread the heater cables - I took the four screws out and left the controls in the car).

Once the trim is out, you will probably want to remove the vents (four screws) and the hazard light switch (spring tabs), unless you want them painted too.

If you are going to take a day or so to paint it and want to drive in the meantime, note that the turn signals will NOT work unless the hazard switch is plugged in!"

And here are some pics to help
