So I just got back from the body shop and they fixed the rust for free! here are some pics of my baby with the mouldings gone. sorry, still shots with video cam arent the greatest quality
I took the 2.3 off and it looks much smoother. I would suggest you do the same I think you'll like the look once you let it go. What kind of drop is that, looks like a sportline.
did mine today. 10min to remove the sides... 2 hours to get off all the adhesive.
I used 3M adhesive remover for the most part... Using that in the sun, bad idea - it dries almost instantly. I did one side in the sun, and one in the shade. Shade is WAY better... stays wet, peels off much easier.. took 90min in the sun, 30min in the shade.
bad shot cuz i took a group shot of our cars.. i'll take a few more shots of my car tomorrow.
As stated earlier in the thread - definitely wait for a warm day. I did mine today (here in Nova Scotia it was about 10 degrees celcius), and it took a while. Me and the hair dryer were pretty much exhausted at the end of it. Looks awesome though.
Yeah, I should've got a heat gun, hair dryer was all that I had, so I used that - not quite enough juice I guess!! Oh well. It took a while, but the time was well spent.
for anyone who is planning to do this in cold weather or the adhesive doesn't come all off, an eraser works really well. you just need one that wont crumble. start on one side and use the friction to pick it off. should get at least 98% of it if not all, and you can just erase the rest.
