remove protege 5 badge

hair dryer and some dental floss/fishing wire. be careful now ;) i bout my car in 2001 so i had a hard time this past summer. if your car is still new, i say do it now. keep in mind, there are two holes, not just a sticker - chris

what does anyone think of removing that badge and replacing it with the familia badge?

are u asking.. why do we do add the emblem? or our opinions about you doing it? - chris

1 step ahead

(2thumbs) i already bought 1. that is what i plan on doing. i am also putting a chrome familia badge in my front grill next to the mazda symbol.

hehe yah, i got it in the rear also... that doesnt sound right... lol but yah, bolts right in the protege 5 holes. i say to stand out, do it razor :) nice little mod and it confuses the s*** out of people "what is a familia? isnt it a protege?" lol. just be sure some jealous kid dont steal it. for me, it cost more to ship to hawaii than the actual product hehe. get off line and do it now! now! - chris

Opinions?

I wouldn't be seen in a car with the name Familia on the trunk. That name ranks right up there with Gloria, Silvia, etc.

Going JDM at the price of your dignity just isn't worth it.

Anyone got any recommendations for a cheap way to fill those holes in the bumper once you've got the badges gone? I took all mine out, looks nice I think, very "gran turismo car" (the game). But the holes are ugly. right now my solution is the extremely ghetto "electrical tape", which isn't very elegant by any stretch (good thing I got a black car).

I was thinking of taking it to a body shop, but don't want to drop $200 just to fill 6 holes ...

got my jdm plate in my rear window, the emblem, that jdm badge (tear drop shape: half orange/half white) next to my safety check/reg stickers, tails in the process of being ordered, and finding out how much a jdm rear is. so i think thats a jdm ass for ya lol. but kurt, i see your point. a lot of people ask y, but im like... personally preference, wanna kind of stick out from the rest of the people, but hey, thanks for your opinion.

razorp5 - just have to get the hair dryer and slowly use the fish line or dental floss (thats wut i used) and remove the emblem. after, u will need something to remove the adheasive of the paint. for that idk wut u wanna use. i used goo gone, but i dont suggest it, may ruin your paint and i dont want to be responsible for that. but others suggested 3m adheasive remover. after u remove the adheasive, u want to polish/clean the area. u have pro5 emblem with the prongs in the back. remove those small platic rings around the prongs and put them on the back of the familia emblem. when u put the familia emblem on, it goes right in. might wanna put two way stick tape. um.. thats most of it i think hehe peace - chris

so youre saying that it would be stupid because the car isnt jdm kurt, im not following :)

Sorry, didn't know you were talking to me.

I don't like the name Familia. It sounds girly like Gloria, Silvia and a whole lot of other Japanese cars. Might as well put Vagina on the back of the car.

If you want to make your car different, that's great. If you're doing it to follow a trend (remember, pink cars are JDM too) you might want to reconsider spending the money. In the end, it's your car, and your money so you can do anything you want with it.

I was just offering my opinion.

i dont really like the name either but im a big of jdm anything so i guess anybody thats into mazdas like we are or know anything about the import cas scene will understand and respect the Familia.

Razor----- Ghost did it on his car it looks really good, Its up to you Its your car.
