Anyone know how to remove the black roof rails? I'm thinking of getting my roof wrapped in 3M vinyl but want to remove the rails for a clean look. Anyone know how these come off?
Also any insight on how to remove the radio antenna?
at each end of each rail is a plastic clip that slides out. is a little freaky taking them off, but i say go VERY slow. How i did mine is i pulled the rear clips outward from the rail(the clip is attached to the car but has a groove/track to slide) Once you have it pulled outward as far as it will go, you have to CAREFULLY force the rail forward, causing it to bow (doing this allows you to get that rear clip completely free of the rail) Once that's free its just a matter of pulling the rail back towards the rear of the car ( the front clip is also attached to the car but and stays attached-just think of it as the way to realign the rail) Lastly along the body of the rail are other adhered clips that attach the rail to the car.
Followed these steps and mine just popped right off.
