Removable Exhaust

I am a newbie in this forum and in modding cars. I recently purchased a MP5 and love it. However I'd like to upgrade a little. It seems as though many people on this forum have done a lot of experimenting and modding and may be able to help.

1) I'd like an exhaust system that can be removed without welding or cutting when my car needs servicing or inspections/emissions? Most exhausts I've seen are welded at some point. Is this type of exhaust system available? The car warranty is important to me and i don't want to lose it over an exhaust. If possible I would like it to sound pretty quiet, but have a deep rumble at idle and in upper rpm. The small increase in horsepower would be great to. The way i envision this would be having the exhaust connected via bushings to underbody and bolted to the downpipe coming from exhaust manifold. When needed, run the car up on ramps and unbolt exhaust, remove from bushings and then reverse for stock exhaust. Is this possible??

2) Is straight piping best? eleminating the cats all together?

2) If possible what type exhaust system can do this and what type of modding is required? I don't want a really noisy weedwackier type sound. I would like a quieter rumble that increases as rpm increases.

3) If not possible can a muffler give this sound or something like it

4) And finally what effect will it have on the engine sensors and the ecu. If this is a problem what is needed to fix it?

Thanks for any advise or suggestions

Number 1! - You have the right to purchase quality aftermarket parts for your car! If you decide to install a new exhaust you only void the warranty on the exhaust. The dealer has to prove that a new exhaust caused your tranny to go (or whatever).

Second - There are quite a few manufacturers for exhaust systems. Everything, including header back systems. The more restriction you get rid of, the more horsepower you get (beware of losing torque though). I have the Mazdaspeed Axleback which is only for looks and sound. Well, I'm sure I got an extra 1hp out of it. I can PM you some pics if your interested. Best part is it takes about 15 minutes to do the job with the axleback.

Thrid - A basic exhaust system will only effect the idle of your engine. This is because of the reduced backpressure in the system. This can be fixed by disconnecting your battery terminals (more specifically power to the ECU) for a couple of minutes, then reconnecting.

Just my $0.03, feel free to ignore it, everyone else does.
