Remote Start by Mazda

Just got my CX-9 yesterday. I had asked for the Mazda Remote start but they had the Audiovox/Prestige one put in with the blue button.
After testing it for a day, I was very disappointed. The remote doesn't work at more than about 150 feet, and worse, if the doors are locked when I use the remote start, there is no button on either remote (I have the keyless fob also) that will open the doors! I either have to turn the car off or push the black button on the driver's door to get into the car, and then open all doors with the button on the armrest.
This is unacceptable, and like another poster above, I am having the dealer remove this unit and install the proper Mazda remote which is integrated properly.

Non Mazda Remote

I have a dealer installed 'aftermarket' Autostart remote (AS-1755) on an '08 M3 GT, that came with two 5 button control fobs, a lifetime warranty, and will perform all the same functions as the Mazda system, with the exception of the power window control ? ? ?
This system installed, cost considerably less than a Mazda remote ! (drinks)

That one sounds better. I am referring to the one that just has one single blue button. And the stealer charged me $595 due to the intensive labor!
The factory remote start is $280 invoice when you buy one pre-installed.

Plus labour for installation ? ? ?
(Mazda stealer quoted $299 + labour for instal, for a total of $500 Cndn !) (dunno)

let me clarify- my dealer charged me $600 including labor for the after market remote start. If I ordered my car from Japan the way I wanted it, or if they located my exact car, the remote start would have been included for $280.
The reason that the after market ones are so common is because Mazda dealers will farm out their cars to local audio/alarm shops who are more skilled at installing devices like this. The shops will stock the universal after market remote starts, and they are also more familiar with them than a Mazda version.
It is good for them but bad for the customer.

A certain LI delaer business manager offering me all sorts of "deals" like that. $595 for that and $495 for something else. Jeez.

UPDATE
Got the dealer to finally switch out the audiovox remote start with the blue button fob for the factory Mazda remote start.
What a difference!
I like the honk sound both when I first tell it to start and then when the engine successfully starts. Now I know it is working without looking out the window.
Also, I love that I can actually walk up to my car and hit the black rubber button on the door handle and open the car! The Audiovox one would not so this. I also like that a quick tap unlocks all doors when the engine is on. The audiovox required you to hold button for about 5 seconds.
Now that I have the right remote start I am 100% satisfied with the car so far...
And I can now say my dealer, Country Mazda in Huntington, Long Island, came through for me and they were very apologetic for installing the wrong remote the first time around. I recommend them if you are looking to buy a CX-9 in Long Island. My salesman Dennis seemed like the best guy there.

I got one at MazdaGear for $245 and installed it myself to save $99 of installation. Great remote start.
I am not sure if remote start can open the windows.

Who installs it for $99? Our shop charges $240

I asked the dealer in my area, Olympia WA and they said $99. But actually I am not sure if it's right just because I did it myself.
