Remote start back order?

I'm trying to get the remote start installed on my new CX5 and the dealer is having trouble getting the parts. He said perhaps they are revising the starter system.
Anyone else experiencing a part back order issue?

There are plenty to buy online.

Also, if you install yourself you may get all done by ~50% of the dealer price. It is very simple install compared to 3rd party systems.

I did see the step by step someone posted here and it looks fairly simple. However the dealer is installing the remote starter (along with the roof racks) for free as part of the purchase transaction.
I'm getting concerned that he may be balking on the starter deal.

That would be reasonable suspicion. Did you get it in writing? If not, don't hold your breath.

Even though the current system in only 'meh', I'd welcome any upgrade from Mazda especially due to quick and easy install.
