Remember Sir Nuke?

Another update that just came in.

Hello to all.

This was just sent to me by Joe's wife :

"I told him he has the Mazda website to check out as there are tons of wishes there for his speedy recovery. He does better everyday. Yesterday he started aquatic therapy. It is great for his balance. He is walking not only with a walker but without one as long as a member of PT is by his side. He walks well also. He goes in for a CT scan this morning. I'm sure the results will be good."

Again, good news.

Thanks to all for your support.

Have the doctors said what his overall outlook is going forward? Sounds like he's making progess by leaps and bounds. Again, its good to have loved ones by your side at a time like this. We can show all the support that we can on here, but the real hero's are Joe and his wife. I'm sure that their love and strong bonds has alot to do with his fast recovery. They should both be an inspiration to us all on the miracle of overcoming the odds. I wish them all the best. Keep us posted.

Well said!

We're all rooting for you Joe. Keep perservering.

Very well said....

I had a friend that took a really nasty spill on his bike. had to learn everything all over again (tying his shoes, eating, reading everything). His wife was actually in a car behind him and saw the whole thing.

She stood by him through it all, if it wasnt for her he probably would have given up. He is back to normal again except for a little bit of a speach impediment.

I'm glad to hear that he's making progress. I know how hard it must be on his wife right now. It's good to see how strong their relationship is in such a time. This could have been a real tragedy. My brother's ex took off after she heard that she may have to take care of him for the rest of his life. She couldn't deal with the responsibility of having to take care of alot of his needs. Like helping him to walk, feeding him for a while, washing him, etc. Too bad she didn't wait around to see his recovery. He's not 100% but she wouldn't have had to do much anymore. Everyone wants to be around for the good times, but when the sh*t hits the fan, the weak run. It's good to know that he picked a good woman.

Is there any type of donation thing set up, I know these kind of things can be expensive. I dont have a lot of money to donate but if everyone gave a $1.00 that could amount to a lot.

Update

Hello everyone. Here's what's posted in Joe's Harley Owners Group website :

"Joe continues to improve and is walking more each day with minimal assistance. His speech is really coming along nicely and his joking harrassment of visitors shows that his sense of humor is getting sharp again. His doctors use the term "super" to describe his rapid progress."

Again, only GOOD news.

Thanks to all for your support. Yes Joe and his wife can be called heroes. Both of them give a LOT of their time to charity, and they should be regarded as examples for our society. It is ironic that Joe's accident happened when he was heading to help do charity work.

As for any kind of donation, I don't want to speak for Joe, he will get on the board eventually, but I wouldn't be surprised he'd want us all to give to a charity instead of him. Give him the time he needs and he'll get back to us soon.

Thanks and continue to send good words.

Wow, thats another reason why someone upstairs is looking out for the big guy. They give to so many people, maybe it was his turn to really get something back for his labors. Karma is a "super" thing. lol :D

Thread Stickied...We're all waiting for ya Nuke! Got the couches out and more fridges than you can count! (stash)

Hey man, good luck. I hope u feel better soon. This makes me think twice about a bike.

Update, from June 15th

Again, this comes from Joe's Harley Owner's Group.

"Joe is doing very well today and his outlook is positive. He spent a good portion of this morning walking the hallway and doing other therapeutic activities. He and Michelle had a good visit around his mid-day break and got some gag gifts and cards in the mail. His doctors indicate that Joe is ahead of the expected progress at this time on his rehabilitation. Joe will be away from rehab center this Sunday June 19th, to spend some time with his family."

Finally, he will be able to go home for a day, and just in time for father's day. This is so great.

Keep the good wishes coming.

Look what I saw posted this morning my another member:

Sir Nukes famous welcome quote I have not seen in a whilke:

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. (stash)

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Man, I actually ate dinner with this guy when he was in town for work. Such a nice guy. It sucks when people do stupid stuff that really hurts someone like that.

Don't know if anyone would find it funny, but he could have done the "Lethal Weapon" motorcycle - semi "duck" maneuver.

First info I got was that a semi was involved in the accident. Surveillance cameras showed it was a pickup truck.

The driver stopped and then fled the scene.

I think most of us have received that. Any way get well soon Sir Nuke. There is a reason I have the personalized plate on my Ninja [CRSHN] with a plate frame that reads CRASH'N SUCKS! Cause crash'n does suck.

Get well soon, Sir Nuke. The Mazda Zoom awaits you. Good luck, bud (stash)!

Nuke, damn man. Sorry to hear about this. Get out soon, and better. The fridge is still in the corner for you mang.

Please get well Sir Nuke! To many food fights have started here with no-one to stop them! HELPPPPPP!!!

Seriously, Get better Sir Nuke
