Remember Sir Nuke?

Red Baron said:
I do. He was cut off by a semi, locked his wheels, layed the bike on its right, then left and slid for over 300 feet. He was brought to a hospital then airlifted to a trauma center. After he had an operation (fractures and hematoma), he stayed 8 days in ICU. He is now in a rehab center. He as lost memory of the accident and a few days, but has started joking. He recognises those who visit him and started walking again. Things look good, and people are taking excellent care of him.

I'll let him give details once he's back in front of his computer.
Thats horrible....I hate hearing of any bike accidents...I hope he is doing well and makes a full recovery.I also hope he gets back on that horse...It will be hard but I would have to do it somehow...Good luck Sir Nuke....You welcomed me here and there are many more members that need your "WARM" welcome....get well soon.

Wow, that's some bad news. Nuke is definitely a class act around here.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Dale.

Sir Nuke,

It's been a long time since I've posted. You've always given great advice, put noobs in their place, and been a great member. I wish you a speedy recovery and only the best.

Update on Joe's health

Hello again

Spoke to Joe's wife today, and she tells me Joe is working very very hard to get better. He's getting more feel in his right arm and the two therapists that are with him just can't believe the progress he's making. His speach is getting better, still has some problems with a few sounds, and he's taking his time to correct himself.

He still has a long way to go, at least another 4 weeks in rehab, but things are going great.

Trust me, it was a pretty bad accident, and he's pulling through.

Please continue your support, he will eventually read this, his wife will make sure he does.

Thanks a million to all.

Aw MAN! I was just talking bikes with him a few months ago.... I can't believe it! Get well soon, buddy. Glad to hear you're doing better, hope soon you'll be as good as new.

Get well soon Sir Nuke!

Nuke was one of the main reasons I came to this forum. His manners and hospitality on the forum were something that early on showed me the sense of community this forum has.

Just saw this thread. I hope you get better soon, sir nuke. It's horrible that things like this happen to anyone, especially someone as nice as nuke.

Some guys'll do anything to get attention . Been wondering where you went...

Seriously, Nuker, we miss ya. Take all the time necessary to get it all back together, better than new.

And when you get back on your horse, an extra dose of careful for ya!

All the best Sir Nuke. May you be back on your feet soon!

I'm glad to hear that he's making progress. I know how hard it must be on his wife right now. It's good to see how strong their relationship is in such a time. This could have been a real tragedy. My brother's ex took off after she heard that she may have to take care of him for the rest of his life. She couldn't deal with the responsibility of having to take care of alot of his needs. Like helping him to walk, feeding him for a while, washing him, etc. Too bad she didn't wait around to see his recovery. He's not 100% but she wouldn't have had to do much anymore. Everyone wants to be around for the good times, but when the sh*t hits the fan, the weak run. It's good to know that he picked a good woman.
