Red front fender accents

Hey everyone...just seeing if anyone thinks this looks cool. I've seen a few other 3's on the web with colored inserts on the fender, but never in red. The left and right inserts are the stock pieces from the car that I took out, cut out the middle, and tried my best to sand down into a smooth piece to paint. Yes, they are a little rough in the up close shots but no one really sees them up close. I just used Krylon Fusion plastic paint and did a coat or two of red, then a coat or two of gloss red, and then a clear coat. I haven't had any problem with chipping yet, but if they start chipping in the future (since they are on the front of the car) I might vinyl them (we'll see). The lower fender part wasn't too easy to get out because of the 3 screws holding it in place, but I got it out with some work. Any thoughts?

i think the actual accent of red you used doesn't fit the car if you know what i mean. maybe a darker red would be better. I seen a ms3 custom painted the other day that was a rusty red. baddest looking ms3 Ive seen. just my opinion.

I think it fits because it matches my interior. I blacked out the emblems b/c I think the Mazda M is an ugly symbol, but that red gives the car something more than all black like everyone else always does; just my opinion.

i understand what your saying. I just wouldnt have chosen that tone of red. little bright for my liking. Other than the color tho, I mean looks like you did a good job.

I really like the interior shot. It is a really good job. I do agree that it could be darker. But its not my car, so that doesnt matter. I have to get off my but and paint all the trims for sure.

how about a shot with the fogs in, if you have them. i like the look, and the interior looks nice, especially the trim on the a/c vents and speedometer.

Yeah the red is a little bold, i can at least agree with that. I don't have fogs b/c I was the smart one to buy this car without them; someday maybe.

was it hard to remove the gauge cluster.

*i like the tuna. How about you go to fat burgers from now on and get your self a burger and fries for $2.95 fagget.

was the cluster rings easy to take off and did the whole thing just un clip off like a door panel

those cluster rings come off relatively easy, but you have to be careful not to break the tabs b/c its a really flimsy trim piece(or to break the piece itself). I broke a few tabs off here and there, but got them to stay on just fine with slivers of double sided tape (you would never know they were there). The hard part was the vent rings b/c I could not for the life of me figure out how to separate the ring part from the vent, so I had to tape up the black part and paint the silver to red; it came out looking great though I think.
