recommended bulb?

I want to change my headlight bulbs. I'm thinking about getting the Silverstars.

I just blacked out my headlight housing and want to know if getting these bulbs will make the paint fade. ( I used regular paint by the way ).

Any recommendations ?

PIAAs are really good, but they cost too much, what I'm currently running right now because Eurolite bulbs have a tendancy to burn out after 3 months

Deff go for the Silverstars, the output on them is great. Don't know how they will affect you paint though.

I don't think it will fade your paint. I have blacked out headlights and they still look the same no fading at all. You sould'nt have a problem as long as you did it right.

I have had both silverstars and PIAA xtreme whites in my P5... take the silverstars... you cant compare the price to quality with them. ANd they look pretty much the same....

Since the Silverstars have the same wattage rating as the OEM bulbs, they will not run any hotter and should not burn your paint if the stock bulbs don't.

Get the Osram Silverstars (not the Sylvanias) from:

Buy the Piaa spark blues. You can order them from optauto.com and they look really good. I would for sure watch the paint because upgrading to a higher output bulb could affect the paint in the long run.

I just changed my headlight and foglight bulbs to PIAA. I got everything for $140 including installation and a 5 year warranty for the bulbs. Only thing is I was messing around yesterday and I think I screwed up those clips and I'm driving around without one headlight. Going to the dealership this weekend to let them fix it.

I believe the Protege 5 is H3 for fogs and H7 for headlights.

There shouldn't be any difference between the Osram Silverstars and the Sylvania Silverstars since they are the same company. Go with the Silverstars though. My mom has them in her Taurus and loves them. And if I'm not mistaken, right now Advance Auto has a BOGO 1/2 off sale, and there is a $6 rebate going on right also.

Checkit.....Im running the Silverstars in my Mp5: H7, 9005, and H3 fogs. I even have the new clear/amber turn signals ones, too. On the note of them harming your paint...just dont go with a too high of wattage output and you should be str8.
