Rear wiper fluid pours not sprays

I'm trying to figure whether this is normal or not... The rear wiper fluid on my CX7 doesn't spray out. It just kinda runs down a path about 3" wide. The wiper picks it up, but I can't imagine it's supposed to do that. The other day it was iced up a little and I got a nice spray, for a few seconds, then back to the old way. Is it supposed to spray/fan out across the rear glass or just pour down?

hmm on my Protege it's just a single little stream just like the front windshield washers (well they each have 2 streams.. but you get the idea).

Maybe the ice sort of "clogged" the spout exit resulting in the spray & when it got washed out it reverted back to its original state...

All the cars I have had where there has been a windshield wiper on the rear window has had a stream rather than a spray...

or a Ranger / Mazda B-series.. the front ones spray a really wide fan of washer fluid, it's fun

Its normal they are not designed nor enough pressure to spray all over like the fronts, the stream is correct

You're right... it "runs" it doesn't spray... but on my Toyota Matrix is was the same thing. I've yet to have a car with a rear wiper where the wiper fluid actually sprayed properly.

i noticed that as well, i was just too lazy to stick a needle in the hole. my VW sprayed (from the bottom of the window). i guess mazda is letting gravity do all the work. ah well.

It does stream down...no spray....think that is just the way it is unfortunately.
