Mmmk I know this is gonna sound tupid b/c the mazda already has 7 speakers including the sub. But i was wondering has anyone put any 6x9's underneath the baclglass in that little plastic peice??? My mustang used to have them like that('65) and they sounded great so i was wondering If I bought some MTX 6x9's would it be hard to install them there? Or would it just be some stupid endeavor that would eventually prove to be useless.

What you should really consider doing is adding a 4 channel amp inline between the Head Unit and the factory speakers, this will TREMENDOUSLY change the sound quality and level in the car and is the best value for money. The reason OEM keeps making paper cone speakers is not only because they are cheap but because the DO work well, it's just that OEM uses cr*ppy amps to power them, distortion kills speakers not power.

useless... do you sit in the back?? then why bother putting new speakers in the rear? get 2 new speakers for the front a new sub and a nice 4 channel amp, bridge two channels for the sub and put the two others to your fronts... will do wonders with a door sound deadening kit and a LOC so you keep the stock integrated HU... good luck and search and ask for your questions

I was jus wonderin if it would be nice to have these... I have MTX 6.5s all the way around but no amp... I have a nice sub that has great sound quality and sound deadening is next. I was wondering which amp would be best for my speakers.. I think they top out at 100 watts each.

An amp that puts out 50-75w x 4 RMS would be good for your speakers. But actually, you probably only need to power the front speakers with an external amp and leave the rear speakers powered by the head unit for just a little fill.
