Rear Badging

I'm new to the borard, as the questions to my MP5 keep coming up. This is the first post.....so please excuse anything that has been previously covered via discussion. I am looking to remove all badging from the ass end of my P5. I believe this to be a true european look, and looks great. I am concerned about the removal of the Protege badging, as I belive I have heard that the badges have holes in the tailgate to hold them. Is this true for all three badges....the Protoege5, the MAZDA, and the center logo. I have also seen a customized MP5 badge somewhere? Any help on all three badges, and possible MP5 customized would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The center "gull wing" Mazda logo has two pins which go through the rear hatch, I know for sure.

Don

so what is the general impression over here about the badge?? yay or nay?

Any input on the removing of rear badges? Holes or no holes? I see the the Protege5 has holes, but what about others?

as I recall....both the protege5 and the mazda in the back has holes. I can't remember though so Im not too sure. It has been a few months now since I removed them to have it painted gun metal. its a pain in the a$$ to remove the badges, really sticky adhesive that Mazda used.

with regards to the mp5 badges yay! I have em on the side of my car.

I'm pretty sure that there are holes for all the badges... Plus, it's a real pain to take them off- you might even scratch your paint while doing this. I do like the MP5 badges on protege5online, but I'm worried that they won't last long on the exterior of the vehicle since they are essentially just stickers. Not a big deal though, they're so inexpensive... thinking about getting some.

Well the badges the Mitch is sell have a acrylic dome that protects them...I've had mine on for about 2 months now...still going strong....The manufacturer (not mitch) of the badge gives it a 5 year warrenty(i think). They are deffinatly better than vinyl stickers.

ALL THREE badges have holes under them and pins that hold them on....

YES I like the clean shaved look as well....but seeing as how the option of removing the badges then having to take the car to a body shop, having the holes filled then having the rear hatch repainted....no thanks....I will just live with the badges.

:D

not to mention...I HATE BONDO!! the RIGHT way would be to have the holes WELDED shut.
