Rear anti-roll bar

I did a search and found that some people with a larger anti-roll bar on a P5 snapped the tab off the strut.

for those who had this happen to them. At what turn speed did you go into? How agressive did you have to drive to have this happen?

I was pulling my driveway at about -2 mph! lol
It was a very wierd angle, though.

This happens w/ 21mm and up bars. Up to about 19mm is fine w/ stock mounts. above that you will need reinforced mounts. The problem is not driving, it's that the bar is not giving nearly as much as stock, and so the mounts do.

could a decent welding shop reinforce the stock tabs or would the heat destroy the struts?
