ok here is the deal... i was installing my boost controller( home made hope it works) and i found a possible problem with out cars!
if you follow the vacuum line that is "tee" into our factory BOV to the left. after the 'tee" the vacuum line goes down to the wastegate. about 4 inches down i noticed it was pinched inbetween 2 oil lines that can get really hot leading to the turbo. i very gently tugged on this line to free it and the vacuum line crumbled in my hand!:wtf: this can possibly be a solution to the weird idle problem or the "hesitation" due to a vacuum leak!hope mine was the only on like this but who know please let me know after you all check yours out thanks -brian

damn,,,,,..good but unfortunate find ... im gonna check that out when i get my car back. thanks for the heads up

Well... you get a couple of problems in that situation...

1, uncontrolled boost. This leaves the wastegate open and will hit boost cut... (i'm pretty sure of this, as I used to poke holes in my line when my boost controller wasn't working on race day)

2. Air leak, causing hesitation, sputtering, stumbling, etc...

I'd take it to the dealer after repairing it and give them the old line.. ask them to wrap it in heat resistant shielding next time.

Brian,
anyway to post pix on this? I've printed out your post to take into Mazda dealership 1st thing Monday.

Tech is replacing my turbo monday. Will ask him to check that and put some heat shield around it if possible.

Thanks for the heads up.

took some pics working on that as we speak also the boost controler i made works ill give part #s and stuff here in a hour or so

I just checked mine and this line wasn't squeezed between the 2 oil lines, it goes just below... guess that won't solve my stall issue! :(

these pics suck ass ill take more during the daytime where you can actually see where that vacuum line goes. this is the line that has to be replaced leading to the wastegate( that is the new one with the hose clamp on it)

are any of you all really mechanically inclined to work on your m speeds just curious..... seems like some people here dont have a clue with performance..... not sayin names..... as for that line problem replace all your rubber hoses with silicone..... its what you always do when you mess with boost.....

I saw the line you described... mine is somewhat pinched between the feeder oil line to the turbo as well... no problems as of yet( only 500 mi)... but I will monitor it! :D

Checked mine as well it is under the oil lines...must have been someone who put the turbo on screw up
