UPDATED!!!! INSTALLED.

Ok so they look good but i may end up going for 20mm at some point. They are damn near flush, but with the camber i gots the top of em are just a tad behind the fender still. Yes, im rubbing on the rears. Any big bump slams the tires into that massive fender lip, ill have to get em rolled soon before i dmg the tires too bad! :( i hope they can handle the norcal trip! Haha

LOL i know. sorry for posting this so late hugh, just got home.

Hey hey hey...

ok, so here is the deal... i lub my stock MS6 wheels. im a weirdo i know.
Bit by bit i have been doing suspension work. Also just got the wheels reconditiond, and new tires!! at some point i want to powdercoat these wheels a nice graphite...

in the meantime, i wan to get more flush!! i've determined that 15mm is the spacing i need to get about there. My only concern is the Eibach Pro-Spacers are listed as being engineered for the Mazda6, not specifically anything else...

55mm is the stock offset, so this will put me at 40mm. I am not dropped all that low with RPM Street springs, so underload i shouldnt rub fenders, but will i when turning? highly doubtful right?

i have spent much time researching and really only have one last dilemna.
Everything is right in terms of these numbers...

- 114.3x5 bolt pattern, CHECK!
- 67.1mm bore center, CHECK!
- stock stud lengths, allows spacers to sit flush to wheel? NO IDEA!
- will i rub fenders edges when turning? PROBLY NOT!

So there you have it, it all looks ready to go, spacers match my hub, cept that 3rd point is where i have no clue.

Anyone ever use large bolt-on spacer adapters like these? If so, were the stock studs too long and poke through the spacer? If so did the stock wheel have stud pockets in them or did you have to shave down the studs? Id rather NOT cut them down, and hope it works out by just plug&play style...

thanks for the help ahead oh time! I'd appreciate any feedback!
cheers.

If you go with spacers you HAVE to have the correct stud length/bolt length for the wheel period. Especially for anything over 5MM. 15mm I doubt is enough to make it Flush considering the stock wheels are what 7inch wide and have a 55 offset. Even 8 inch wides with like 40 offsets dont really make it flush flush

i'm considering the same batou. im lowered on h&r's and the offset looks terrible now.

there are pockets in the wheels that are so deep in fact, you can actually line up the studs with them and the wheel will sit nearly flat against rotor.
so i'm assuming after the spacers are on. the lugs should sit inside these openings and allow the wheel to fit flat against the rotor.

what info have you figured out on the other websites. please share.

i wonder if the studs on the spacers are to long to use the stock lugs. or, to short.

i also wonder about the quality of the ebay spacers. the price is easier to swallow but i'm unsure of the integrity of the studs.

do not trust ebay brand spacers/adapters no matter what!
this is a component you wan tto spend a little extra for trust in integrity.

I just ordered my eibach pro-spacers from a buddy at a great price.
Research yield they are 100% workable, especially since the stock wheels have stud pockets.

15mm is in fact the first amount to sit flush as per my measurements with 7in wide wheel our stock offset. Stock offset i found out is in FACT 52.5mm... so putting me at 37.5mm is great with the stock wheel!!!

Also found out the speed6 front fenders come factory rolled, but the back fenders do not.
So i will have to get taht taken care of for when i drive under load/spirited twisty driving.
Cept so i do not risk paint ripple, i will probly get em shaved instead of rolled.

if you can find good prices for them, i say go for it!!

yeah, i'm gonna pass on the ebay spacers. just gonna have to find a good deal on eibach's.

thanks for the info.

btw, do you have yours installed? can you use the stock lugs? and do the spacers come with the acorn nuts (haha!) to properly attach them?

yes, since you essentially are getting adapters with a second set of studs/lugs the stock lugs should work. Same spec threading i believe. they incliude a set of low pro lugs to bolt the adapter onto the drums.

Havent got em installed they arrive later this week.
ill letcha know!

spacers

I used 25mm spacers on stock shocks and no problems. Only when you lower does it hit. mine that is 25mm. with yours you might get away with it .
studs will be fine. it should of came with nuts.

oh nice, well i measured the 15mm are perfect for flush.
25mm you must be poking eh? got pictures? i definitly couldnt do that.

as it stands ill still need a rear fender roll/shave with my moderate drop & spacers. haha

yeah, the rear fender has a pretty sharp lip. a roll is must.

i've read some other posts of people saying these could be bad for wheel bearings and extra stress and such. any one have any experience with bearing failure due to spacers?

bearing failure is pretty hard to do with spacers unless you get some crazy offset, like 40mm spacers or some such.

with only 15mm im 90% sure it wont be an issue.
about the rear fenders... im pretty sure ima go with shaving the lip not rolling.
im too paranoid that rolling will ripple the paint.

they say you heat the fender with a heat gun to get the paint to flex.

i'm tempted to try it myself. i'm sure with practice one can get really good at it. but maybe with patience, and the right tools, i could do a pretty good job.

how do you plan on shaving the lip?

no idea, i need to ask around for people who know how to correctly cut/shave the lip.
i know professional shops do it, but i dont know such shops so ill have to shop around.

wow i said "shop" alot in that last sentence. rofl

well, grinding it would prolly take to long and be messy. a good strong dremel with a carbide cutting wheel might do it. you prolly wanna do something to protect the freshly cut bare metal too. clear coat or something.

reading this thread and the research some people have already done makes my decision for 18x8.5 +45 offset rims look like the right choice. too bad the rim i want is a special order and will take 3-5 months :( might need some 3 or 5 mm spacers in the rear but all should be ok :)

great info here guyz's.

good idea. i got a new dremel this past christmas too!
Hmmm, might have to make a DIY after a bit more research on best methods. :D

nice, it looks good. thanks for the pics and update. yeah, a few more mm's would put you in the "hellaflush" club, but that looks just right imho.

man that makes me really want to grab a set of these up.

so how's it feel? can you tell the scrub radius is different. technically, your wheel base has increased. so it makes me wonder if one could tell.

lolz yay, hellaflush! nah, dont care about those fitment obessors. :P If it werent my dd then maybe, haha.

So anyway, my drop plus spacers, i am having to get into a new habit of driving, ANY dips, bumps that i know of, i have to take extra slow now or i rub, BADLY. It's loud too, always startles me when tire rubs fender, cause instead of a simple rub noise, its a loud POP as the fender lip gets pushed/pulled by the tire.

I love the stance though, almost feels like stability is a tad better on sharp fast turns.
Just REALLY need a fender roll now, i have a big norcal trip this weekend, i hope mah cah can handle it!

dam dude, poppin sounds. get that s*** rolled. isnt that tearing up your tires? it cant be more than like, 80 bucks to get a shop to do it.

thats pure speculation on my part though.

well at least now i know. priority on the rear fender roll, asap. think i'm just gonna do that first.
