Does the CX-7 sometimes "hesitate" when you try to return to acceleration...??
Since about 2002 all Toyota and Lexus FWD and F/awd vehicles equipped with DBW, along with many other vehicles of asian manufacture, seem to exhibit this symptom in certain reasonably rare circumstances.
You're accelerating, even barely, just enough to not be in the top gear, you then lift the throttle momentarily ever so slightly, the transaxle upshifts accordingly and now when you wish to QUICKLY return to acceleration there is oftentimes a 1-2 second downshift delay/hesitation before the required downshift completes and the engine/transaxle ECU releases the throttle from idle.
I have read that Ford solved this problem for the Edge transaxle by using a variable displacement ATF oil pump so I suspect that Mazda, being a partner, would have done the same.
Anyone owning a CX-7 notice any re-acceleration downshift delays..??
