Can someone please end this argument for me, I live in FLA and he lives in Georgia, so theres no way I can go look just for this...but i was temped.

I've read that the outputs from the Bose headunit are line level. So, you should just be able to tap into the inputs to the Bose amp under the driver's seat. As long as the amplifier you are adding has high impedance inputs, it should be fine. Other solution is to add a line level converter at the output of the Bose amplifier.

Line out converter

Hi, i was wondering what an LOC from the stock head unit is, how it is used with a ( 2 or 4 way ) amp and what it actually does?
thank you

an LOC, or line-output-converter basically lowers the voltage of a speaker level signal down to something you can feed into an amplifier.

There are not RCA's on the Bose headunit, but you can add them without too much trouble.

I noticed this as well. I'm getting a lot of hiss on my install. Sounds great once the volume is above the noise floor of the hissing.

hm i tested my spliced in rca's with a stereo system and i didn't have any noise - maybe i'll hear it later when i actually install all of my stuff.

bose vs stock

OK, sorry to be on tangent, but are the BOSE HU and stock tuner HU the same beast.... because if they are I can at least tap into a preamp out, since both amplify externally.

....Or are the BOSE stereos different than stock head-to-toe? From stem to stern....? Meaning no preamp level outs on factory non-BOSE tuners (boom03)
