RCA question...

i need 2 pairs of RCA's, i went to best buy cause i thought i could find some decently priced ones, but they want like $30 for 1 pair thats like 16 feet. can anyone point me to some good quality, nicely priced RCA's. thanks

When in doubt regarding wiring, see knukonceptz.com

Great prices, amazing products. I have their Karma Kable interconnects...great things, just make sure they don't touch the frame pieces where the altenator is grounded. Makes for some *huge* alternator whine. :D

I got a pretty long sheilded RCA line off EBay for pretty cheap. I also used some knukonceptz Y splitters and have had nothing but good things to say.

It depends on what you want, you can get them for 20$ or you can get something a lot more expensive, I got mine for what I consider to be a decent price, 50$ for two sets. Check out sounddomain, they have some nice stuff.

I agree, $30 is cheap. . .paid $50/set for mine. I'm gonna have to say, you get what you pay for. Cheap ones will give noise and such, look for a nice twisted pair from a reputable name, otherwise, deal with the aftermath. . . (not being mean. . .but crappy cables make for crappy sound when all is said and done). Sounddomain.com is a good place too. . .not familiar with the other one.

i like my scosche rca-interconnects. . . . .i have virtually no noise (except for a little HDD noise from the carputer) and the rca's only cost 25 bux . . .lol for a whole amp install kit (4ga wire, 2 sets of rca's (i needed 3), remote wire, dist. block, fuse and fuse holder)

hooray wal-mart

i paid AU$30 (20)for mine, (twin paired ie 4 RCA plugs, in one connector!!) and they rock.. but ya gotta realise that with any half decent cable, if you don't route them correctly, you will get alternator noise, etc, and all the other fun interference and noise...
i'm still proud of the fact i was able to build my entire stereo for just over AU$1000 which is what? about US$680... its good, has no eq issues, is balanced, and only requires a tv before i bother doing anythign more to it!!

thanks for all the responses guys. well, i do plan on routing them on the passenger side cause i have the power cable running through the driver side. so am i really going to need a lot of shielding? keep all resonses coming......thanks

how many channels are you running? You can get the same cable as me from KNU in either 2 or 4-channel flavor. the 2-chan is 13$ the 4-chan is 20$. That's for 6M (18'). You could mount your amps on the driver's side in the back of the trunk and still have enough cable, believe me!

As for shielding, just make sure that if you have metal connecters (like on the KNUs) you put some insulation around them, or on the frame metal they may be touching when you route them.

hey, servoeyes, when you ordered from them can you remember how long they took? because i am getting the deck from crutchfield and they guarantee 2-3 day shipping, and i dont want to be waiting for the RCA's, you know what i mean...thanks

also i forgot to mention, i am running front, and rear, so i will be needing the 4 channels. my amp is behind the seat on the drivers side also...thanks again

It took less than a week for me to get my stuff. Their order status dealy isn't exactly accurate, but the stuff got to me really fast. I actually had my wire before I got my sub from eD and I ordered them on the same day.

--EDIT--
...and I order over 100$ of wiring. :D

Just go to a damn audio store. Our monster cable RCA's start at $19.95 for a 5 meter set. If you want a better quality and better construction step upt to the MICRO XLN's for $45.95 for 5 meters.
All monster has a lifetime warrenty so if they do break then your covered.

Hehe...Mr. Retail himself! He does have a point, though...there are other options (which are less expensive and equal in quality compared to Monster), but if you want a right now solution, there it is. And the lifetime warranty is pretty bad-assed.

i wish i had a tweeter down here in corpus christi. the closest i get to a tweeter is about 300 miles, Houston. thanks anyway

But most specialty stores will be overpriced...the deal you found at Best Buy (i think that's where you said) should do you. If you *can* wait then look at KNU or Crutchfield. I mean...if you're already ordering the HU there, might as well buy the wires, too...they'll be MSRP, so it's the same price you'd find at BB or whatever chain you'd buy it from.

BB hs the same stuf. Lighting audio and RF have decnet RCAs no worries there.
Also many small shops don't hike pricess all that much on wire if at all.
