rattles

anyone experience dashboard rattles? i only have 2700 mi and there are a couple of rattles coming from the dashboard and ofther places which i have yet to pinpoint. i've found one that definitely originates from somewhere behind the guage cluster and another from the front passenger area. so far they're relatively quiet but they're loud enough to drive me crazy. i took it to the dealer and they couldn't hear anything, but i know i'm not imagining them.

Dash Rattles

I had one behind the glove box. It originated from a bunch of wires that rubbed together. Pushed a bit to bend them and it fixed the problem.

No other rattles yet, I'll see next winter

Only the license plate rattle on the hatch. But that is easy enough to fix with foam tape.

I have some experience with the centre console rattling, but it went away after I pushed it for 30 sec, then, there was rattling near transmission, I later found out it was the slurpee straw rubbing the centre console.

I've got 3 rattles that I know of. One behind the glove box that is kinda loud, but doesn't happen very often (only above 45 MPH or so on a certain type of pavement, very coarse). The other two are the front two side windows, that rattle very quietly sometimes. Only hear the passenger side when in between songs on my CD player, but I can hear the driver side one more often. Doesn't happen all the time though, seems to happen most when I have the moonroof open or when turning left. Pushing on the door panel lightly stops it. I am going to bring it up at my first oil change probably.

You sound like me 6 months ago. Yeah, I have an occasional rattle in my dash, one on my drivers door, and one in the engine at 3K+when it's cold.

more rattles....

Yea, I have em' too. Mine are around the sunroof headliner...It makes poping sounds on all sides from time to time....I push up on it and it creaks,,,,but mostly 'pops' all the time. And the funny thing about it is...it only happens above 70 degrees....Very strange....Oh yea, my drivers door panel does 'creak' from time to time....But you know what,,,in all the cars I have owned,,,they all have had their 'unique noises or sounds'....I even have the 'cold engine rattle' too!....I also had a brand new 87'Isuzu I-Mark Sedan back in the day, that did the cold engine rattle as well....go figure......

I found one of my rattles to be the fake little switch down by the foglight switch. You guys should check that. Mine is kinda loose in there and it rattles first thing in the morning.

this car is so damn noisy I'm going def from turning the radio up so damn high so that I won't here the rattles

After reading all this I feel pretty fortunate--the only noises I have are from the sunroof area. Rattles a bit when closed or tilted and a few creaks from the headliner surrounding it when the car's been sitting out in the sun. Not enough to bother me. No dashboard or door rattles. So far I'm impressed with how solid the car is. Miles ahead of my last Honda.

I too have a rattle (probably the glove dept. area) I thought there was something in there but I cleared it out and its still there. I only hear it when the radio is off and i go over a bumpy part of the road which is not too often. What I am going to do is push the wires and stuff under the glove compartment like Red Baron did and see if that fixes it.

wow..thankx Mr.Joel....my car have some rattle noise at the hatch..so i brought it to the dealer and they checked it and they said it's was fine...but it was not fine..i keep hear this rattle noise but since i read your msg...it was like a bang in the head..."oh...the licence plate" i was never going to think it was the licence plate...so i fixed it in like 2 mins...and it have no more damn rattle noise..thankx

i don't know about you..but my rear licence plate doesn't fit the liceence plate holder..it was stupid...i'm in canada..maybe you are in the US..so nothing wrong with it....i don't know..it's just stupid
