Rattles with the P5

Hi everyone, it's me again . I have been reading some threads on how the P5 will develop rattles throughout the car just after being a few months old . Is this common with the P5 ? Has anyone noticed annoying rattles developing as the km/miles start to add up on your P5's.

Yeah, I have had a few rattles in my P5 so far. One came from the trim around the driver's window, and the other came from a loose kick panel under the dash on the passenger side. I haven't had any major ones though, and both of those mentioned were easy to fix. I've had my car since Jan. 2002, and I have ~21,000 miles.

Just the drivers side window, and only when down halfway. 3/4s way down its fine. Nothing bad or really noticeable, just a excuse to turn the radio up.

But after almost 5-6 months of ownership and 11k later, plus many many miles of hard driving through corners...no other rattle.

much much much much much much much better than my old Saturn or a Firebird I once went to buy (didnt though cause brand new it was rattling worse than the Saturn)

I got 49 000km on my My P5 the only thing that Creaked was the sunroof. The rubber trim seems to get dry really easy and creaks so i just gresed it up and it find now!

Did they ever find where the rattle on the drivers door is coming from? I have it also on my car (especially early in the morning when its cold) and yeah you can turn up the radio but it still very irratating =P

On mine it comes from where the lock thingie comes through the door panel up on the top of the door. Still havn't found a way to fix this other than locking my door....

Hey,

At 12,000 miles, it is about the same as last year when the weather started to turn warm....."creaky" sunroof headliner trim and the shade panel. And sometimes the door panels as well. I have not experienced ..'yet'...the dashboard rattles a few people have.....I really dont think their is a manufacturer (Japanese, Euro or American) that is totally immune to noises from every car it produces.
