Rattle under acceleration - 2nd and 3rd

Ok I am the second owner of my car, but from the day I bought I have noticed that in 2nd gear and on if I accelerate hard there is this rattle, it's very apparant, and sounds like loose heat shielding, or if I didn't know better it sounds like the turbo was about to spin apart or a bearing was toast or something.

So anyway the dealership has been working on it to no avail, and then recently I had a seal go in my turbo, and well yesterday they replaced the whole turbo. Back to square one with the rattle, still there, so I am thinking it has to be somehting external, anyone else have this problem? What's the fix?

Thanks.

thats the same thing i have i believe. it does it to me in first gear though also, i dont know what it is, im gonna take my car to the mazda dealer today

Where does the rattle come from? If it sounds like under the car, check the exhaust heat shield above the resonator....or the muffler near the bumper. Just shake the whole thing from behind with the car off and cool and see if you can hear it.

Well it should not be anything on or near the exhaust manifold seems how they just had all that apart. It does sound to me to be coming from the engine bay. And I will try checking the exhaust as mentioned but I am doubtful b/c under slow acceleration you don't here it, it seems to only occur under significant load or at full boost.
