Rate Borla Exhaust

Hey forum:

I just came from a lil auto show here at my island (PR) and talk to Borla Exhaust Sales Person. He told me that their Borla Ford Focus 2.0L 4cyl. FWD AT/MT 4dr. 00-03 Car-Back System Part# 14874 will fit our Mazda3s with just a move of a clamp of the exhaust to fit the factory location.

If any of you have a Borla Exhaust what is you reaction or feedback of this product.

PS. the guy told me that the entire CAT-BACK System would cost me $645.00

Does it require the moving of a clamp or a hanger?

How much power increase would you get from that Borla cat back exhaust? Assuming the 3 already has an intake on it. And does it have a nice sound?

Well guys they gave me that HIGH price do to the fact I live in PR (hate when it comes to parts over seas). I'm honestly impressed with Borla Exhausts and maybe next year the CAI and a Borla Cat-Back is comming on. I haven't heard a Borla Exhaust on a Mazda3 but I would imagine the sound.

BTW: What is the difference between Magnaflow and Borla the material?
Borla has a pretty good issue or "confidence" with their Aircraft steel. Don't know!

I don't know much about the Borla system. I looked for it on their site & I couldn't even find a sound file for it. I'd like to see more info...maybe I'll email them. I love the way the Magnaflow system sounds though.

I must have played each of the Mazda 3 clips about 5 times. I'm wondering what the price is going to be on the Magnaflow system? That combined with a CAI should make for a nice running car, right?

Go to magnaflow's homepage, click on "sounds", look up the MZ3 & there ya go. Couldn't find any for the Borla system (yet). As for price, they haven't announced it yet, but hopefully it's somewhere in between $400-$500.

i heard it, but im not sure i really like that sound. It reminds me too much of a civic. How much gain in hp and torque do you get from that anyway??

I think one of the guys at Magnaflow told me appx. 10hp, 9 torque.

if they are saying 10 and 9 on (i assume) a stock engine they are talking flywheel numbers, at the wheels it will be more like 3-5whp gained.

who knows could be more.

Yeah, I like the price, and it looks well made, but I'm not sure I liked the sound too much. Is there any warranty on that system? Eh, maybe I'll wait for the dynos...

yea i actually think the sound is not too bad....usually i dont think exhaust sounds very good on 4 cylinders but this not bad.
