Are MS6's really that rare? Are they as Rare to see as an Evo or VR4?

Id say yes to both of those questions. ask yourself how many times uve seen an MS6 besides ur own on the road outside of a meet or a friend who owns one and u see it everyday.

Think about how many were made?.. how many were crashed, totalled, blew motors and any other bad thing that could send them to the crusher,junkyard..How many are left?

Seems Pretty rare, so are they??

id like to see some great deal of discussion go into this topic since i was searching around autotrader to see what i could sell my 06 GT for with 20,140 miles and the prices were between 20k-25k.. but its rare to see one with that low miles and also one that is modded.. can the rare factor be applied here like the VR4 guys that put the prices for thier cars way up cuz u just dont see them.. its the same for us or will be down the road IMHO..

not driving a speed 6 but my buddy just got one. In Co they are not very rare. There are probably 5-10 used ones around every week, mainly 06's. His was a GT model with 20K miles and he picked it up for 20K after tax. I have seen them as low as 18K with about 20K miles on them for a sport...some even have lower miles. They didn't sell that well as new cars and don't seem to fare as well for used. But they are still in the 20K range for used which is decent for depreciation.

They are not common but definately not rare if that makes any sense :). STI's and Evo's are not even close to being rare. At least in florida they are just as common if not more common than the speeds.

That being said I doubt the "rare" factor will help you selling your car. I got my brand new 07 speed 6 for 24K so don't think you will be getting 20-25K. Maybe some crazy mazdaspeed collector may want one but thats unlikely.

actually the blue book value for mine is 22,130.. which is pretty descent.. considering the way things are today.u got a bargain u probably shouldve payed atleast 26-28k nice job on the price reduction.

One thing to keep in mind is that the car is not only a limited production, but also fairly new. The few that have hit the market so far were from people who, for one reason or another, just decided to part with theirs. Also, some of the leases are ending which will lead to more on the market. I am thankful that the previous owner of mine decided to not buy theirs out of its lease (allowing me to own mine (burnout) ) and others will have their chance at a similar slice of joy. I doubt rarity will play a large role in this car, but that shouldn't hinder the warm and fuzzy feel the speed6 gives those of us lucky enough to own one.

i think i have only seen maybe 3 in my area, how "limited production" are these?

Mazdaspeed 6's are all over the place, with old ladies driving them where I live..not sure why older women like the speed 6's but that's besides the point. I've seen one Evo 8 here, and maybe 3 Evo X's...Canada though, heh.

I've seen one in the town I live in of 40,000. So not the most common around I guess. Same color, same year. His was lowered on some nice looking wheels.

Here in Florida the EVO's and STI's are swarming. Actually I take that back. I used to go to FSU before I transfered and I never saw another speed 6. Saw 2 evo's in the 2 years I was there. Now I see a new EVO or STI everyday. Overall though I think the speed 6 is less common than the evo / suby.

Yes I got one hell of a deal on my speed 6 brand new fully loaded (except navi) for 24K. It was actually 28 but they had a 4K rebate on it. They really wanted to get rid of it for some reason. It only had like 15 miles on it too so its not like it was a test car or anything. Weird . . .

I see a handful of MS6's daily. A VR4 however, that is relatively rare. I think I see like one a year.

I dont see them quite as often as you, but I see at least a few every month. I can't really remember the last time i saw a vr4.

I wouldnt say evo's are really all that rare either.

I've seen maybe one regularly here where I live in Northern VA. I know there are more out there.

Coincidentally, he works at the restaurant right next to my store (Lowe's). :p

I also know there's a silver Mazdaspeed3 that's ALWAYS at my Lowe's as well.

I don't see them very often, but maybe once every month or so I'll drive past another, or see one parked somewhere. I see far more 911s and STIs. I don't see many Evos, but they haven't been in Canada for very long.

I'd actually really like to know how many Speeds were sold in Canada and the US for the two model years. I think someone on the TM6 forum said there were around 35 or so in the Toronto area (which is approaching 6 million people), but I'm not sure where that number came from.

I rarely see any speed6s...usually i'll drive pass a red MS6 once in a month on the way to work

Sometimes when i drive into Boston I see 1 or 2 driving in as well..hehe

I haven't seen one on my side of town(North of Houston). I have seen a Speed3. In Minneapolis I saw quite a few. I think it sold better up north because of the AWD. Also for the guy saying that he's see old women driving Speed6's, that's hard to believe. Old women driving stick...

Ya I live in texas and I have seen maybe 4 different ones in 2 years around where I live. They are pretty rare where I am at; I see MANY more Evos, STIs ect...and I like it that way.

I must live in the land of them. I know of 3 that I see routinely during the week. Red one on the way to work everyday. A black one that apparently lives down the street. And this mysterious black cherry one with a couple mods I see cruising around.
