Rap, Hip-Hop, Whos good?

And if you want something that will blow out your speakers just get a 69 Boys or 95 South CD. Not much for lyrics, but when you need some heart stopping bass they're just the thing.

heres a couple real hip hop examples
underground s***

dose one
atmosphere
brother ali
sole
el-p
people under the stairs
themselves
boom-bip
aesop rock

anything involved with anticon

if your more into hiphop then rap, youll like this s***,

Damn someone beat me to the good songs. But yeah, Atmosphere's song Blame Game, on the God Loves Ugly EP is death to the ears.

I'd say if you want something that bump hards, get some of the Birdman *BIRD CALL* i'm not a big fan of his music, but i heard his CD in my friends car with one 10" JL w7, and that stuff hurts.

One more thing, THE GREY ALBUM KICKS ASS

Find the other thread on it started today for a link to download this album that you can not buy in stores. it's Jay Z's "Black" album remixed with the Beatles "White Album"

Most of the good ones I like were already take. The new Atmosphere album is excelent by the way. Here is some stuff no one has mentioned:
Roots (hip-hop at it's purest)
Blackalicious
Talib Queli (sp?)
Dizzee Rascal (british hip-hop, kinda different)

gangstarr has the one song on the 8 mile soundtrack that is the s***.. i gotta get that cd... also tx thats a great list of bands.. not many ppl know about some of them..good work

No Problem. I didn't know of most of them until I started buying mixtapes put out by Rawkus Records. Anything put out by Rawkus is good.

M=SP2: I just got a hold of a Dizze Rascal CD (Boy in Da Corner) today, but haven't listened to it yet. I've heard good things though. Have you heard of "The Streets"? They're another British Hip Hop group that I heard is really good and a lot like Dizze and Aesop Rock.

I also like Roots Manuva, but that's more dub than hip hop

That song isn't on the "Full Clip" CD, but I think it's on the new one put out last year called "The Ownerzs" . That was also a really good cd too, several great tracks.

Yeah I heard of the Streets, never had a chance to listen to their stuff beyond that one video they ran on MTV2 a while back and that was real good. I tend to like british pop more then the american stuff, so I'm glad they're coming out with some quality hip-hop too...Other then Jay-Z and Outkast, mainstream hip-hop has become garbage.

Good? Good?

Are any of them good?

To me they all sound like complete and total crap, and I just don't understand how anyone with any type of musical taste would listen to it.

we're not as fortunate as to have your exceptional music taste. i can't go on living knowing that you don't like rap. sure it's not all good. but different strokes for different folks. i feel sorry for your kid for having such a closed minded parent.

fkmp5 is right on the ball. Hip-hop now is garbage. 50, lil jon, nelly. that's all recycled s***. i hate when people ask me what music i listen to. i have to explain that i listen to underground hip-hop and they are like "who?" i name a few groups or solo artists and they have a blank ass look on their face. i respond, you'll never hear it on B96(local trendy station) or MTV(a tv station that curupts young minds).

Gangstar
Demi-godz
Apathy
cant go wrong with some old school Nas & Biggie (1st albums)
