Random stalling out 2.0 auto

:
2002 protege es
Recently my 2002 protege has started having problems stalling out while driving. It seems to be most common when decelerating. I notice it most when changing lanes on the freeway in rush hour traffic. A good example of when it happens is the following scenario:

I am cruising along around 30-40 mph, let off the gas to drop back a little bit so i can get behind the car on my right or left and then push the gas pedal to find that the engine has died and lost all power and coasts to a stop. After this it usually takes a couple of cranks before the car will restart. Sometimes, I have to pump the gas pedal once or twice.

Since this issue started I have replaced the fuel pump which seems to have made restarting the car after it dies easier. I have also checked the ignition coils, crankshaft position sensor, and camshaft position sensor which all have in spec resistances. My spark plugs are around 10k miles old and look great. spark plug wires were replaced at the same time alongside a timing belt job performed. Everything was fine until about 2-3 weeks ago. There has been no check engine light upon failure at any point in time either which is why i am asking here.

Any information would be helpful. and thanks ahead of time.

I assumed you checked thoroughly for vacuum leaks?
Check:
All vacuum hoses for splits
The airbox to intake accordion tube - look underneath with an inspection mirror.
Intake manifold gasket
EGR valve (if there is one)
Auto trans fluid level (a low level condition can cause stalling at very low vehicle speed.) Check exactly according to the owner's manual specification.
