Random Horn Beep and Headlights Flashing On and Off While Driving

Hey everyone,

2008 CX9 GT AWD. Have had it for about 4 years. In the past few weeks I have had a weird issue pop up. While I am driving, the horn will beep and the lights will flash on and off momentarily (I can see the change in the dash illumination). Then it might not do it again for a long time. Other times, it might do it every couple of seconds, and sometimes it will do it three or four times in a row.

At first I thought maybe the smart key battery was going out, but I replaced it. Today, when it started doing it, I decided to just take the key out of the smart card and start the car with that. After about 5 minutes of driving it did it again. Then, all of a sudden (and this hasn't happened before), the BSM light started flashing on the dash. It eventually stopped doing it, and I was able to actually push the BSM button to turn it on and off.

When you lock your doors with your remote, does the horn sound? It almost sounds like the doors are trying to lock with the remote while your driving. Heard of this happeneing before. Just a thought.

You know that's what I thought also, but my horn doesn't sound when I lock my doors - it beeps once for lock, twice for unlock. The fact that it is the horn chirping and the lights are flashing is what is puzzling...
