Radar Detectors?

I dont think radar detectors are illegal in California..I could be wrong, but I don't think they are...

EDIT:
I went to check just to make sure...here's the link, scroll down to the table and for California it says "Not Regulated"

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/esnr/radar.htm#table1

FYI: on the california law regarding radar detectors. Radar detectors are legal and so is VG2, etc... But no jamming devices allowed in california. From the Vehicle Code:

Jamming: Electronic Speed-Measuring Devices

28150. (a) No vehicle shall be equipped with any device that is designed for, or is capable of, jamming, scrambling, neutralizing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with radar, laser, or any other electronic device used by a law enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.

(b) No person shall use, buy, possess, manufacture, sell, or otherwise distribute any device that is designed for jamming, scrambling, neutralizing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with radar, laser, or any other electronic device used by a law enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.

(c) Except as provided in subdivision (d), a violation of subdivision (a) or (b) is an infraction.

(d) When a person possesses four or more devices in violation of subdivision (b), the person is guilty of a misdemeanor.

(e) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person who has a valid federal license for operating the devices described in this section may transport one or more of those devices if the license is carried in the vehicle transporting the device at all times when the device is being transported.

I am gonna be looking at a radar detector for myself since my car is now ticket me yellow. I think the Escort one that is a perm install without the laser jamming is my best bet.

So does anyone on here have any experience with the K40 systems that are similar to the Escort SXR and SR7 (or whatever they were earlier in the thread) where it's a permanenet/invisible install.

Valentine Ones will pick up cops behind you, to the front, sides of you and helicopter signals as well and supposedly has the farthest range and variety of detection gear - the downside being price ($400) and weight. Many people claim it constantly flies off the window.

It comes with various options for mounting. I love it! The price is a little hefty, but considering how much a ticket can be.....well there you go! I don't know that much about Escorts, but I love Valentine One!

Looks like...

I'm going with the V1. Many false alarms...Probably, but I think I'd like to have the false alarms along with the arrows.

Must be a patent thing, because for the good I hear about the Passport 8500, I still hear "Once you live with the arrows, you're hooked (Or however it goes)..." Someone also said if the Escort had the arrows, they'd get Escort instead...

Everyone who advd me on reasons not to get the Cordless Solo S2. Thanks... (Don't know what I was thinking)

Anyways, I have $250 set aside & when I get paid this week, I'll probably put my order in for the V1 & the remote display. I'll hook it up like: Protege_Speed's V1 Setup. Nice & clean...
