Radar Detector

I have a Radar Detector and lately its wiring has been bothering me with running it all the way to the port inside the center console. Since the detector is up on the dash (normal place), where is the nearest place to tap the power and not having to turn it off manually when the car is off?

I tapped the cig lighter and ran the wires up the a piller and through the head liner.

I used a add-a fuse connector to the fuse box.

I bought a Valentine V1 when I got my MS3. It is a great detector, very sensitive, gives lots of information about what is around you.

But, you have to pay attention to it because like most detectors, it alerts on lots of things that are not of concern. You can tell them apart because of the information it gives you, but you have to pay attention. You can disable bands that are not used by LE which cuts down on the falses.

So... I have just ordered an Excort 9500i. It includes a GPS and allows you to teach it the location and frequency of false alarms like door openers, school speed indicators, freeway speed monitors, etc.

My Valentine will be up for sale in a couple of weeks when the Escort arrives.

I believe thats the newest Escort that is coming out right?...But Valentine 1 is the way to go, best one out in the market, although it is very ugly it gets the job done the right way...

I have an escort passport 8500 x50 and it sucks. It must be broken because it usually doesn't go off until after I pass a cop. It really pisses me off and it is only 2 months old. Go with the valentine, I should have.

The picture with the red circle is a tiny pushbutton switch I added for the mute function. Makes it really easy to reach with a fingertip.

Lol go get a wireless one, wireless is the way to go! Got mine on ebay for a 100 bucks came with recharable batteries too. Gotta look for a good one though, mine has never failed me, except on 95 once, the new SUV's out have something other than laser and radar, cant seem to figure out what they are running.

I just got my 9500i in today's UPS and it is a sweet unit. I will be running it side by side with my Valentine for a few days, then probably be selling the V1. I'll post it then.

Is the bell, if not what is a good laser jammer also, because I always only get pulled over by bike cops and im pretty sure they use laser.
