so i guess they are comin out pretty soon, just wondering for the few that have info on it, does it bolt dircetly to the second cat? how much is it gonna cost and when will we be gettin it in the states?

what's wrong with a 4-1 header? won't the velocity of the exhaust gases be greater if all chambers emptied out to one point? or would it be better to go from 4-2-1 in order to decrease that turbulence that these gases create?

I think OBX, Racing MAzda, for the 4-2-1, Ractive makes a long 4-1 and essentialpseed makes an equal length 4-1. I know thers a few more though

The Ractive Header is a direct bolt on to the factory mid pipe containing the second cat. It is a 4-1. You can buy the mil eliminator for $21 from apexi and not worry about the second o2 and not have to do ANY mods at ALL!! Or..like myself, you can have a muffler shop weld in a second o2 bung behind the second cat ($10) and lengthen your second o2 sensor a couple of feet. No check engine light, and both o2's working as per factory.
4-1 headers are better for low end power, 4-2-1 headers are better for high end power...(I think, thats how it works on sport bikes so I assume the same for cars?...please correct me if Im wrong)
Header cost is $290 cdn...(+tx) Hope that helps.

ractive is going to release a cat back system to accomadate the 02 and match up witht the header. it will be available around december according to ractive. i am putting together a group buy on the headers on the other thread

Hey guys, thanks for your help. I ran across this:

Apexi N1 NA

and

Apexi N1 Turbo

Each for only $160 BIN. This seems too good to be true, considering the prices I've seen for this in catalogs. Are these the same mufflers, and which would be best for a Protege? Thanks.
