Well this is weird to say the least...I was racing this older model CRX just tonight. I was spraying and I don't know if he was or not but I got him off the line through first then I hit second on got to sprayin', we stayed even most of the way, not sure how fast we were going but it was probably over 65mph. We started braking but something happened when he was trying to brake. I was in front of him by a car length or so when I looked in my driver side mirror and seen him almost hit me in the rearend as he was trying to brake. After that he let up and then I think he tried to brake again and that was when I seen his car jerk to the left and then back to the right and hit the curb. When he hit the curb I heard a big CRASH sound and I knew he had flipped. I hit the brakes and tunred my car around as fast as I could, and I was so scared I almost hit a dumpster in the back ally I went down trying to find him. I got out of my car and he was laying on his stomach about 30ft. from his car. There was blood all over the place and he was barley talking, he didn't know what had happened. He must have gotten knocked unconcious during the whole thing. I made sure he was the only one in the car and then I went across the street to a gas station and called 911. Right about the time I got off the phone with the 911 assistant a cop pulled up and then another and so on untill we were surrounded by flashing lights. I tell you one thing, this will be my last time racing on the street. I was so scared, and not really for me but mostly for him. I was just telling myself let him be OK, please let him be OK. This is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. Nope, No more for me. You never know when its gonna be your turn. It's just sad that it takes someone getting hurt in order for me to realize this.

I am glad you are OK. As far as the other peep I hope he pulls through this. I dont know about your state but in AZ it is a 1 year suspension for street racing if the cop is a D*$K. I dont want to scare you but it is possible that you may become an accesory to the crime.. saying if anything happens to this guy you may be partly at fault. I'M NOT TRYING TO FREAK YOU OUT OR SCARE YOU BECAUSE I DONT KNOW YOUR LOCAL LAWS. But truthfully if he has serious injurys or worse you may be held partly liable. I dont know that but it is possible. As far as running the bottle hopefully the cops dont know you guys were racing and on the bottle. If you get caught with the bottle here in AZ its a hefty fine. Im glad you are OK and again Im not tyring to make you freak out.....

I am sorry to hear that.....That is sad i hope the kid is alright...You are right racing is stupid......It is weird that, that happened because yesterday coming home from school there is a windy road by my house.....It is always fun to race here...any ways i was driving and a Audi S4 I notice in my rear was coming up....so i punched it.......He obviously caught up but we both almost recked because we were going 85 and almost smashed in to a truck driving a head taking up the lane, we bothed had to slam on our brakes and vear to the side....I got scared and said to my self that is close and we could of really ****** ourselves....I thought driving home this racing bull s*** is not worth it..... So what happened to you was on a higher scale with no doubt.....So we learn, and it is not worth drag racing.....

Atleast not on the street. Drag racing should be done on a track in a controled environment.

Well guys I know its fun to race on the street, I used to race too ... almost every weekend until finally i wrack my car, than I stop.
Just for info, down in LA there always legal weekend racing in Butterwillow raceway (monthly). I know its not as fun as midnight racing, but atleast there are sefety issue.
Especially for people in LA i suggest you to join, I know i am going to go there after i finish tuning my car (hopefully next month).
ok guys.. see U
and drive safe..

Here in vegas they do the same...You go to the raceway on friday or saturday night and it is legal racing.....time the car in the quarter mile...That is safe and how it should be done
late ;)

Track racing is great...the words racing and safe do not belong in the same sentence. The track is a much wiser choice for quenching your thirst for speed but it can be quite dangerous.

For anyone who's been to street legal events at Pomona, Palmdale and other tracks...things can go wrong...very wrong. I've seen cars flip over, crash into the side barriers, burst into flames etc. The good thing is...it's a somewhat controlled environment...you don't have pedestrians and other motorists around like in street racing. The occasional streetlight race or freeway race is great fun but can also be highly dangerous...not to mention the FAT ticket you can get for doing 100+.

So whatever you choose to do...try to be as safe as possible...for yourself and others around you.
