raced an msp in a 99 ext cab silverado nad hung right next to him the whole way

also everytime it shifts into second it almost feels like the damn tranny is falling apart because it shifts so hard but the guy that did it all said that it will do that
 
Nope it doesn't have a governer at all. It has a Fuel-cut off which is 7000rpm's, and i don't think the MP3 has the power or ball* to reach redline or fuel-cut-off in 5th gear. The MP3 at 132mph is at 5700rpm's. So to answer your? there is no (GOVERNER) or anything what so ever to not make you go past 130+mph." Either you have your E-brake up or braking at 132mph/ LOL J/K".
 
ok dude...my car shuts the fuel off at 132...when ur in the gas full throttle and the damn thing sputters like it has no gas that usually means that there is a fuel cut off right? and yes i know that there is a fuel shut off at 7000 cause i can hit 60 in 2nd if i let it go all the way to 7000 and yes not sure whut rpm im running in 5th gear at 132 when my car shuts off but i know its at least around 6000 or so...too busy looking at the road and the mph rather than tach at that time...i dont mean to be pissy towards you but i think i know whut my car does man..if it does the same thing when you hit 7000 and also at 132...that means that they are both fuel shut offs...not sure if this is something that the dealer installed or if thats just how they do it in this state or whutnot...not saying ur car doesnt do whut mine does but im telling you the facts on my car
 
yea trucks are much faster than people think..hell i have a 83' silverado which i dropped a 76' 350 in w/ 3/4 cams and not one, but TWO 4-barrel carbs..yea..i put out about 340HP and about 380 lb-ft..yea..this is in a 1/2 ton truck... i say bring whatever MSP you want..i'll bury your ass..thats my work truck..sucks my protege is just a DX..sigh...but at least the silverado can go 150...haha..hurst 4 on the floor is no ******* joke..

Hey, I'll race your truck.. on any highway or drag strip. I only have a 4cylinder that dyno's at about 135hp... heh heh...

Not to sound like an ass Either but, if your car bogs out at 132mph that is not an Fuel-Shut off, It's more like an (Governer). Which the None of the 1500MP3's have governer's PERIOD. I have no clue why your car is doing this, but i'm telling you none of the Mp3 owners that i know of have this problem. If a Fuel shut-off is at 7000rpms then it is at 7000rpms, and at 132mph the rpm's is at 5700rpms. So you have quite a long way's till you hit the Fuel-cut off.;)
 
ok dude...there is only 1320 mp3s actually..only 320 yellow were made and not 500 like they said. just ask bigben on here...also im telling you for a fact that unless it is goverened then it is weird but it feels exactly like the fuel shut off at 132 as the same as 7000rpms...im not trying to be an ass bout this. also i will post a movie of my friends truck doing a burnout

I actually lost to a truck once at the track to. Some S-10 turned a 9.8 left me in the dust.
 
hey buttons i meant you race him in ur spec-v...not a bike..lol...if you raced him in ur bike then you would smoke a lot of ppls asses...but he said he would race the spec-v...he is thinking bout putting my friends old s/c off of his gtp on the regal since the parts and all are like the same and all for the regal/grand prix vehicles. then that would be one fast ass grocery getter and for alldat im sure you can smoke mp3s all day long...i drive one and i have ridden in a test driven 2003.5 msp and it is faster...we just wanted to see how it compared to my car but it was nice...titanium looks sweet

you sir are correct. there is a speed limiter and you don't want to hit it. think about it, you're at full boost, high rpms, and high load and your fuel gets cut until the ECU sees that your speed has dropped. do you see a problem with the fuel cut???

Regal

Ok, I would race his regal, assuming its stock in my Sentra. Its just when you said regal, i pictured 30lbs of boost, and thought i should run him with something that wont waste his time. At the local drag strip around here, the slowest turbo regal/GN turned a mid 12. My sentra turns low 15's.. so .. heh you see where im coming from?
