We raced from a stop and a 60mph roll. From a stop the Jetta had a better launch but I started cathcing up in 1st and when I shifted to 2nd I just kept pulling on him. I just kept gaining on him up to about 90. Then from 60mph, he got the jump and as soon as I floored it I caught up and just kept gaining. It was a good race though. The turbo on that car sounds really nice, its pretty loud stock. But I'd say the 1.8T Jetta is a really good competitor for the MSP.

you didnt race him on the street did you? Cause if you did be prepared to get flamed. i know from personal experiance.

RoTi speed-People can hate all they want but it's not gonna stop me from doing what I want. And the yellows awesome isnt it?

The Jetta 1.8T had 150 hp up through 2001.

A race with the 180-hp version would be a very good race though. Congratulations either way.

Hey nate. have any good pics of your magnaflow muffler? I'm looking into their cat-back for my speed, but can't find any pics of the system.

I don't have the catback.... but here are some pics

this is all I could find

ya i love yellow. thats the best color they have out for the msp.

lol thats just why at every speed dealer ive been to recently there are 6 - 7 of them laying around and they have prices as low at 15k on them... the yellow im sorry is dull in comparison to the titanium the orange or the blue...

Nice kill...if it was the 2k2 1.8t i would believe it. I was tryin to decide between a p5 and 1.8t...got the p5 obviously cause of major $$ differences. But my dealer gave me a new 1.8t jetta as a loaner (which was alot of fun)and my girlfriends sister has one. Two things though. They are a lot heavier 3,000+ i think. ALthough they are quick there suspension kinda sucks for so much hp....180. The car dives into corners and u can feel the weight. I am actually happy i have my p5 cause although it aint as fast there is a speed limit and nice handling is always so much more gratifying.

my friend just got a 2003 1.8t and man, it is a much better car than the p5, not even in the same league, the only thing the p5 trounces the 1.8 in is suspension where the 1.8 is alot less go-cartish
the power in the 1.8 is great though and the turbo wistle is beatuful! i would have 1.8 over the p5 any day, the materials in the jetta are 100 times nicer, the car is easily on par with my dads old is300, if not better
she also has the wolfsburg option which comes with really nice recaros, and the cloth is really nice, thick and quality feeling, nice texture, keeps you glued in, great sound system too, i think she has the upgrade monsoon (?) system, really nice

the 150hp is on the wheels, jettas are measured that way.

i raced a 1.8t b4 and kept up for a lil but then he pulled so it was over but that car is heavier so dosent move as fast

not by much...he must have been messin with u cause its a very quick and, as was mentioned, luxurious car for its category. I dont even plan to be as fast...unless i get alot of money. Weird thing is that the base model jetta only has 110hp...why didnt they put 130 is bizarre. At least i can cream my GF's car. Although, one thing about the jettas are overrated...The Monsoons kinda suck. Obviously it is nicer then the p5 stock system , save for the absence of a indash 6cd, and who cant love components but i have noticed on both the 1.8t and reg. jetta that the tweeters blow really easily. ALso i didnt notice much of a difference between the monsoon system and the normal system. Anyways whats the point when u r gonna gut it and add amps...subs..etc..
