Race Roots Project Mazdaspeed6 Pictures!

ok this is awesome looking and by far the car is going to be a damn beast!!!.. my only concern is not having the crash bar on the car.. and also it can be unbolted and not cut off like in the pictures, wouldve looked cleaner if that was done and possibly gave you more room for the IC piping. Id like to see how all of it is going to fit with the stock bumper and what changes will have to be made to make the stock bumper fit and line up good.. so subbing for now.

I love how clean the piping looks and the little things they did to add support to the piping. I enjoy welding and enjoy seeing quality looking pieces like this.

Nice. You initially came out with the secondary injection setup, right?

Also, are multiple products, like the FMIC kit, going to be available, or is it only going to be a package deal?

Correct and yes it will be available separately when we get our manufacturing completed.

Hmmmm? Isn't the injector seal issue due to cylinder pressure on the DI injectors, not some other fuel delivery issue? That said, I assume you guys are using additional port-type injectors, but you're not removing and plugging the DI holes are you?

Correct I was unclear with how I worded it your initial statement is correct.

Yes we are using additional PI for more fuel, we are still utilizing the the stock injectors in conjunction with this system.

wait, im not trying to sound sexist or anything lol but the owner of this monster is a women?

Yes, she is. Her and her husband both share a passion for the car, she has a greater love for it if I am not mistaken. If you want to be blown away further she had previously done her mod installations before she brought the car in. I have seen many engine bays, her's was nicely done.

A crash bar will be added, I want to clarify that this is a WIP!!!

Work in Progress!

So leave the comments of missing this or that they are going to be addressed or I will take the pictures away!!!

Thank you

its an online forum im entitled to my opinion. take the pictures away i could careless, its not done and so far looks good except you hacked the old crash bar off when it couldve been unbolted.. that was the only negative thing i said.. get over it. you better get some thick skin, and not go saying ohh ill take the pictures away if people keep being negative about our work.. its an online forum people are gonna be critical about every detail no matter if its finished or not.

looks like its gonna be a very good kit. the piping is ran almost like my car, haha. are you guys still using the Plastic manifold for the port injection additions? if so, how does it hold up afterwards to 20+psi pressure levels? any issues with cracking on the MS3?

RR or Spranger, do you have any pics yet of the FMIC with the bumper on? im curious how it looks, im waiting to see a speed 6 take up the whole front air damn with an IC, lol....or close to it. not that it matters but ive never liked leaving the crash bar un cut and dropping the IC down lower and having that void above the IC.

Overall, i think the workmanship looks great, the manifold looks outstanding. what size wastegate is being used?

the t67 will definitely take away the low end punch of the car, but tthe top end will be very good. its just gonna suck getting the car going from a dead stop launch due to the larger turbo. but i believe the increased top end will void that, haha

Keep up the good work. i dont have a speed, but im Subbed! lol

EDIT:

also, have you guys every thought about running blow-thru MAF setup for greater accuracy in tuning?

Tial 44mm

We are not using a plastic manifold for the port injection, I dont know where you got that from..lol

Thanks for the comments!

More pictures to come later!

port injection i'm guessing?

Yes

bingo.

seal issues are power dependent, not fuel delivery dependent.

And regardless of the fuel setup, it will still be an issue.

how do diesel engines fix that seal problem? cuz they have a shitload of power and pretty much the same setup as the DI engine

never owned a diesel lol. But if your talking about the big boy trucks, usually they have 4 more cylinders than us, and a healthy after market.

As it stands now, PTP performance has some upgraded injector seals but i don't think any are on a vehicle yet.

Honestly though, i would have thought the bracket that holds the injector would have needed to be beefed up, rather than just the seal, but i guess he's (john at ptp) had good luck with his seals. Time will tell.

yea true, they do normally have v6/8's
bracket makes sense though, if the injector is getting pushed up then it doesnt matter how good the seal is, there is gonna be a leak

but im not an expert so i guess ill just have to see what happens lol

I know my opinion doesn't really matter since I don't have a speed. But I have been a diesel tech for over 9 years.

One thing is the fuel being used in the DISI, gasoline versus deisel fuel.

Another thing is that your trying to make 400-500 hp on a 2.3L diesel motor runinng gasoline (di motors are basically just a diesel engine with less static comprseion running gas)

You have to remember that big ppower diesels are runing straight 6, or v8 right on up to v10 and v12 in huge heavy equipemtn...they have more than double the cylinders at times comparded to the mzr as well as double triple and quadruple the amount of displacment. So they aren't really fighting to make 100-300hp per liter

That where I see the flaw inthe mzr, good motor but has limits due to the design.

Now that I said that...let the flaming begin
