R Spicy 1 Build coming soon.......

Patiently waiting

upon inspection for the noise the number 3 rod bearing is knocked out and the rod and crank is damaged, the rod bearing on number 2 showed signs of detination on the bearing. What needs to happen is the engine needs to come out, the rod and crank need replaced and a better from of engine management

detonation?? I just looked at your maps and the one you had before the tune @ Marc's was leaner by 1 ms in your boost area...

What tuning solution are you using, and do you do your own tuning?

I may have another option that hasn't yet been tried on the MSP, but I will ask my buddy that is a rep.

Sweet, Split Second . I am looking for a standalone for the car....

I printed out what you had and what I put on (14 PSI map). You were consistently lean above 3500 RPMs between 2.5 PSI and 11.5 PSI, the leanest being 7.5-8 PSI @ 7.5ms compared to 8.8ms in the same section on the 14 PSI map.

I got your email, Godfather but I don't know jack about tuning or ECU's. But there are a lot of people running the Split Second and as far as I know, not many have fried their built motors. I don't exactly trust everything Big3 says since it seems like when one thing is fixed another issue pops up with them.

How much would a Haltech cost for Spicy? Probably big bucks... I think Nate is selling one, but it could be a piggyback. Again, I don't know much about standalones or tuning yet.

A Haltech would run in the $1,200 range (maybe less) + tuning & install which would be another $1k at least. I'll ask Bill to give me a copy of his map and see what he has

If you are going standalone, MoTech is the best in the business.

For piggyback, do you happen to know what kind of crank sensor your have?

Peaches, do you think it's necessary to spend $2k on an ECU? That's just a huge chunk of cash...

Haha, Chris! But sometimes, believe it or not, BRC isn't always the answer...

If Bill is running a SS with all those miles on tracks I don't see how Marlons first auto-x with it would mean he needs to get rid of it. Maybe I'm just paranoid and I admit, I don't know jack about ECU's, but for a built motor to go poof of it's first auto-x sounds like Big3 is a little shady. Then to blame the ECU (though a tune is everything) and talk about upgrading sounds like yet another way to milk more money from Marlon.

I just don't want Spicy to end up like Fez's gorgeous MS6. I'll shut up now.

I'm not saying he has to, but a Haltech is definitively cheaper than a Motech... Maybe Bill's map will have better results for him, or he could spend half or less in having a pro shop tune the SSAFC.

Megasquirt, do the work yourself, save the cash. I've seen everything from lawn mowers to 2k HP landspeed dragsters using it. Totally customizable and you can get anything you want out of it, massively helpful forum community. Costs right around 5-600 for the top end models. Anyways...just thought I'd drop my 2 cents in.
