R.I.P. Audiogalaxy

Music freaks around the world will shed a tear as Audiogalaxy was all but shut down today. AG was very useful in my search for untold noname underground electronic music. Now I have no idea where I will find music that you can't even find or order in record stores.

Enry....do you know what is up? WE have been using AG for a long time...and have gotten untold amounts of stuff from there....what happened?

I love AG. Or should I say.... loved. Wish it wasn't going away. :(

I know it sounds a little mainstream but you might want to check out Limewire. I have been able to find some pretty obscure music I was looking for from like the 80's Industrial and stuff like that. There is the one you pay for and the one that is free. I like the free one best. :D

try music-city morpheous. I've been using that for almost a year now and have found more things on there than audiogalaxy had. its kind of a pain to connect sometimes if you're behind a firewall but otherwise its a nice outfit.

well after I posted....I went to some entertainment news places and searched...and found more than I really wanted to know....guess the music industry filed a suit about a month ago...and Audiogalaxy just settled out of court....thus agreeing to remove ALL copy written music from their files and also to pay the lables a hefty payout.....thus Audiogalaxy has gone the route of Napster.

something tells me eventually they will get them all...its only a matter of time. then we might as well just junk the CD burners altogether....and next the movie industry will figure out a way to make the DVD burners useless to us too.

They can't stop true PTP. They can only kill those file-sharers with centralized servers. That will be the next step we will go to.

And, Nuke - I disagree. Burners will be used as I do mine now: To transfer home videos (w/ added special effects and stuff) to them using MPEG. Nero makes great VCD's that play on any DVD player. They make wonderful Christmas gifts and "letters".

actually I was being a little sarcastic...but what you are doing is a great idea!! hmmmmm so I take it you have video and audio inputs on your video and sound cards...and hook up a VCR that way?

sounds like a neat idea......
