After 2000 miles on my s-touring 5dr about the only complaint I have is cabin noise. I have Dunlops on the car and was wondering if there is a quieter alternative.
I put Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on my Protege5 for the same reason and it has greatly reduced road noise. They were the top tire recommended for my car on tirerack.com. After 40000 trouble-free miles I can freely recommend them.
I put michelin primacy tires on after about 1,000 miles. These are very quiet tires and after getting them I no longer have issues about road/tire noise.
Not sure if these are available in the states but all the upper end cars (Mercedes, BMW) here in Thailand come with them. I have not had a chance to put a set on my M3 as I only have 500 miles on her but did put a set on my old J30 and they cut down the road noise about 40%. I would highly recommend them.
This is encouraging news. Conti's or Michelin. Anyone try Bridgestone's? rdokit, that Yoko looks interesting but it is definitely not an all season tire which I need.

Sorry Gene, guess it snows in Long Island as I recall as I lived in Long Beach about 40 years ago. We only have 2 seasons in Thailand, Hot & Hotter and it occasionally rains. lol
In general, quiet tires have smaller tread blocks of various sizes to cancel out the harmonics.
Sports tires tend to have bigger tread blocks (more contact), and, therefore, noisier.
This is just in principle. Other factors come into play.
