Quiet, affordable BPV?

It is pretty clear from what I have been reading that I should probably consider upgrading my BPV. I have a limited budget, so price is important. The Forge unit gets generally good reviews for function and is very well priced, but I think the "Mario coin sound" would drive me insane in short order. So I am looking for feedback from anybody who has installed a different BPV that works, is reasonably quiet (at least not annoying) and won't break the bank. Thanks in advance.

Whats the bank set at? I love my HKS and I find it quieter than the stock in recirculation with a MS CAI.

The bank isn't really "set" at anything. It's one of those "limited total dollars to spend so if I want more than just one new toy, I have to be frugal about how I spend it" situations. Do you have the $190 valve or the $275 one?
I can justify $190, but not $275. Of course, the $275 is a bolt in, while the $190 requires fabrication...

190 will get you the valve.
250 will get you the valve+flange, unassembled
275 will get you the direct bolt on

I got the $275 to avoid frustration and a headache... (lol2)

I think forge is really your only option(cheap). It's only loud when you're in full boost I think I've heard.

Anything with an intake is going to be loud. Do you have an intake?

I have an MS-CAI that I shortened to SRI when it was time to clean it. I am one of the lucky few that have zero problems from my intake. I used to get CELs but my dealership of choice applied every SA and recall available (surprising number of small parts that came out) and nothing in a few thousand miles. I just get the feeling that the car should be stronger than it is, like it has gradually lost a step, and a leaky BPV might explain that.

What exactly are you defining as cheap? Because I'm selling my Synapse. At least thinking about it.

As I explained before, I'm trying to spread a limited budget over as many useful upgrades as I can. I would like to be able to easily return the vehicle to stock as well, which is going to limit my choices on BPVs.
(Return easily to stock means no downpipe, which I reeeeaaaalllllyyyy want to do, so it looks like settling for a RP.)
I finally ordered a boost gauge, so once that is in I'll have a better idea of if I even need a new BPV. I just noticed in another thread that Ford considers the factory BPV to be a 20,000 mile part, and I just hit 20,000 so I probably need to do something.

I feel your pain. I want to do a downpipe real bad, but I also want to be able to return my car to catback only stock in an "oh s***" situation as fast as possible.

I just put the TurboXS Full Recirculation Bypass Valve on like 40 mins ago.. Its not loud at all. Slightly louder under moderate to full boost then stock plastic P.O.S. , and I'm running the MS CAI. Sooo its fairly inexpensive, and easy to install, like 15-20 mins tops. Bolst directly to the manifold and bam your good to go. No having to change springs or adapter plates.. Here's the link... http://www.mazdaspeedstore.com/mazd...ent-Re-circulating-Bypass-Valve-Ma-p-135.html

by the way.. I do have a TurboXS Downpipe and race pipe here too, just havent gotten around to putting it on yet... (drive2)
