quick question befor buying new rims

do 40 positive offset with 18x8 rim will work?? car is not lowered...it gona be closer to the fenders or shocks??

I'd say go 45+

There are ways to make it work

on stock supsension and tires it'll work, and the lip of the rim will be closer to the fender. I might even try a +35 when i decide to get wheels...but i am planning on doing a bit of fender work to make it fit. You would be better with a +45 if you want to "play it safe"

That would be ~12mm outboard (closer to the fender) than the stock +52.5mm -- probably outside most people's comfort range. Personally I would not deviate more than 5mm from stock. Especially considering that rubbing typically occurs first on the inside of the rear fender lip, you won't want to have your wheel pushed that far outboard.

If you can't get a higher offset with that wheel, I'd look for a wheel with a different offset. Also never trust what retail websites tell you about fitment

I set it up with the stock wheel/tire on the left, and an 18x8.0+40 wheel with a 235/40R18 tire on the right. Note their comment:

Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.
