questions with springs vs springs...

ok im in a hardcore debate with myself that is making me go crazy (fight) ... so i need you guys to help me decide...
basically im debating between which springs to get and a rear sway...
basically it comes down to h&r vs cobb for springs... for the rear sway it would be cobb mainly cuz i cant find any where that sells the hotchkis rear by itself...

now the cobbs give a 1" drop all around while the h&rs give 1.3-1.2...
i like the cobbs but 1" doesnt seem enough... the h&r make the car seems a lil more of a meaner stance... but ive heard stories of shocks going out with h&r.. also im wanting to know how many ppl bottom out or have probs going over speed bump... and do you guys rub with the stock tires/rims... (later on im going to be changing the tires out with 225/40/18s)

cobbs do seem like a more reasonable choice for a DD (which is what my car is) but if people arent having these probs i would like to go for h&r for the +1 on lower stance...

i am also going to be putting in the ms rear chambers with whichever i go with since i have them sitting around and i cant sell the ms springs and chambers together... so i said screw it im keeping the chambers :-)

thanks in advance

and yes i have searched around... alot...

get BC coilovers and call it a day. You are gonna pay anywhere from 200-300 for springs, extra 100-200 to get them installed. Drive around for maybe a year to year and a half and ruin your shocks which will eventually blow out. Pay another 500-600 for a good set of replacement shocks and struts, another 100-200 to put them in and at the end of the day have no adjustability. The BCs cost 1000 and are fully adjustable with front camber plates and if you bargain with some of the vendors on here like i did, can prob get them cheaper. Just lookin out, i did the eibach springs on my P5 and it was cool till the shocks blew...and it was just "lowered"...didnt perform much better because the shocks were sub par. Ended up gettin Tein SS Coilover kit after the shocks blew and wish i had done that from the start.

I have the hothckis front and rear sways and i love them. Also have the MS Rear camber kit you are talking about and it is decent. If i had to do it again i would get the SPC adjustable rear camber arms from SU because the MS ones are not adjustable and are more expensive. I have a full write up below my sig, good luck!

i would like to get coilovers and all but i dont have that type of cash... and truthfully i dont really need anything adjustable... i want it to be set in one spot and left alone... so picking up coilovers would be too much money for me for something i dont need

Lol I hear ya, good luck with the springs...hope my scenario doesnt play out for you cuz the cash will sum up anyway

Front sways

Are the Hotchkis front sways reasonable to install, there is fear for the forum folks about Cobb's front sway install. i am looking at either of the f/r sets. Just looking at pictures I can not see why Hotchkis are easier. Help me out Shag. I am leaning but want front and rear camber adj. thanks

yep

I also will probably fine tune the set up and not touch again. But i want to be able to dial it in to exactly where I want though. I have been looking at the suspension for six months and still have not been able to say' this is it '. tough call considering the investment. Best Luck!

ive got a friend who installed the front cobb says he had to drop the sub frame... he also said it would have been easier with a lift...
i kinda do want to go with bc coilovers but i kinda have a limit and my thinkings of what i want to buy are:

cobb/h&r springs
cobb rear sway (unless i can get the hotchkis alone and depends on how stiff)
dashhawk
turboxs dp and rp

if i add those together i pretty much am up to my limit... i could always drop the rear sway and dp but id still be over if i got coils, rp, and dashhawk and i am deadset with wanting the rp and dashhawk
getting the rear sway (maybe front also) and the dp, i dont mind getting later on, if i could get everything else in my cash limit...

Careful with exhaust, Lots of Ponies available but to get the most out of it you will need a way to tune it. The flow increases dramatically. Dash hawk looks like a good investment also. Did you get your rear motor mount yet? That can be less expensive and pays dividends right away. The Racepipe I love but with full Turbo back i really need the tune. Ran 13.74 today no tune, bald tires oem, at half throttle due to fuel cut and boost issues.

ive got poly mm, ets 3.25, twm bushings, ms cai, hks bov... later on i will get cobb ap but im looking for suspension and a lil bit more hp (and im getting bored of the stock exhaust sound to)

Did you see the Track video with Cobb stage 2 install. The car will rotate nicely and settles quicker, increasing lap times significantly. They did a nice job of providing a tuned suspension. There is some security in that. nothing against any one else's product but Cobb seems to have walked the talk Good luck report your results

well im still in the debate... ive seen h&r on ms6 in person and they looked good and ive seen the cobbs on the ms3s in person... but i also dont want to go thru that hassle later on if the shocks do go... but also it comes down to money... i dont mind not having power parts right now... but i do want the dashhawk and i would really like the rp... i hate having so many choices.... i even have problems going to a diner and making up my mind even though i always end up with a burger, when im not in the mood for one lol...

Bored yes

I may never listen to the radio again. My Cork has turned out to be an investment I will never regret. I like the sound and vibration at all speeds and rpms. Did not expect to. Only loud on cold morning start up and when you want it to be. I have inserts,3.5 ETS, mscai, Turboxs valve( on coffe table, need a flanged adapter) wheels and tires (nitto-555) are on tracking for the 24th. And am also in the hunt for all the suspension bits now. Sounds like you know where you want to take your car. And it should be a blast! even though no tune, the car is a riot. I got the nod from Carrera s the other day. i destroyed the 333hp M3 and gave him a one car lead. Our car has so much potential in every aspect, It is an interesting stock ecu though.

Yep. Choices. Ok buy downpipe and Dashawk. Wait for coilovers. There i said it

lol... i really want to drop my car though before anything else... thats the biggest thing for me... if i can get the bcs for cheaper ill do that and dashhawk maybe... and i know that if i end up changing my rims and tires ill want to drop it even more in the end... so i think ill see what i can do money wise to parts wise... ( <--dont know if that made sense)
