Question on lack of mid-range bass

When I first bought my '09 MS3 GT with the BOSE sound system, I hated it with a passion. I'm a pretty big audiophile and upgraded them really soon to Rockford Fosgate Power Series component speakers all around + 2 more tweeters in the back doors (1 in each door). At the same time, I wasn't satisfied with the bass in the car so I took the stock sub/amps and got a pair of Rockford Fosgate T1's (600RMS each) and got some much heavy bass that I've come to love throughout my line of car ownership.

The thing is, I didn't notice it until a buddy of mine pointed it out to me that I'm lacking a huge frequency range for mid-bass. He played a sound check song on my system that just goes through the frequency range and there is a distinct range where the speakers die down to almost a whisper.

What have you guys done to combat this lack of mid-range bass? Or do you guys just tend to ignore it? Or...have I just opened your mind to something you never noticed?

Nobody's got an input? I'd really like to know if anyone's done anything about the lack of mid-bass, such as install a small box with a couple of 6x9's in em.

What frequency range are you lacking? Typically that is resolved by matching your high-pass and low-pass controls on your amps. No reason you can't dial them in to a range that suits your ears. Also, the slope setting could affect this, on amps that have a selectable 12/24db filter (like many JL amps)

Lack of bass from your front speakers could be a crossover issue, a phasing issue, or it could be a characteristic of the speakers.

I think he's ditched the amp and speakers and sub, so he should be getting better full range response.

Ugh... damn it. Should have read that more than once... and not skimmed. I adjust bass on the HU and back off on the sub. Takes some time and fine tuning. Sorry for the worthless post. :(

I've tried a lot of tweeking on my head-unit with no luck. Got a bass-control knob for my subs so it could be tuned down all the way but still no luck on a certain frequency. I'll give it a shot with the amp cross-overs and hope to hit the sweet spot. Thanks for your input, guys.
