Question for all 2008 GT owners.

I have a question for all 08 GT owners with the LED tail light assembly. Do your LEDs line up straight in a line, or do you have certain LEDs that are off to the side?

Mine are totally not straight. In fact certain ones are way off center. I was wondering if this is normal. I have informed the dealer and they will take a look at it next week when I bring it in, along with vibration from the wheels on the highway.

I noticed what you are talking about on my parents 5.

After examining it, I determined that it looked like the single leds were in fact strips of single LEDs, say 5-6 a strip, and in order to make the contour with the strips, they are offset in places where the strips meet.

I might be misunderstanding you, but I'll give it a shot. The LEDs are all facing towards the center of the vehicle and are reflected out towards the back. I first noticed this too and took a closer look and noticed the reflectors. Same with my MS3 GT which has the stock LEDs. Some are, and some aren't lined up exactly with the reflectors.

yes, you are correct. They are reflectors. But they just do not line up. A couple of mine are way off. I'm gonna get the dealer to take a look at it this week.

Is it me or the lower 4 LEDS on the driver side dimmer than the other LED's or is it the angle of the shot? Looking at the photo , I could say that the middle LEDs on both sides are a bit off.

Yes it's normal. Mine are that way and every other GT I've seen are exactly like that. It depends on the angle you're looking at. Mazda didn't do a great job on these tail light, IMO. The design is cool, but they should've went with a more conventional design like the Toyota and Lexus designs. Reflecting LEDs are pointless.

Yes, the 4 LEDS on the driver side is dimmer because of the angle. If you're exactly in front of it, they are all the same brightness. But because the are reflective, some LEDS may appear dimmer at certain angles.

Ok, so it seems like it is normal then. But I must say it looks like something made in China.
